Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The washing-machine doubles as a bidet, to bring excitement to the otherwise dull life of a prospective tenant.

I used to live in one of those in Paris, shower, shítter, cooker and sink in the same room. There was a communal jacks that we used to use though, something didn't really sit well about having a crap in the kitchen.

I just spent the last few hours looking for a place to stay in Scotland. Edinburgh is my first choice to rent, but some of the property in the outskirts is actually quite affordable to buy.

The Dublin property prices are quite hilarious. Jesus, we have an unemployment rate of 13% and Dublin isn't that special anyway. A place like Edinburgh is so, so much nicer and superior. The rent seems to be cheaper too. Mad stuff! The deluded Irish property market!

I once stayed in a windowless flat in Hong Kong that was so small the bed took up about 60% of the room. It was about as cheery as a coffin.

They have a different concept of space there. Even when you go to the cinema, its so overpacked with seats, that if you're in the front row you're literally just below the screen and suffer whiplash watching the movie

I honestly don't see what you're seeing. I think it's fine. A small house suitable for one or two people, just like it says in the ad. I like it. 700 a month is relatively good too. The washer/dryer have to go somewhere and, as the kitchen is too small for them, the bathroom's quite a good idea. What's the big deal? There are far worse places out there - real sh1tholes.

Just been looking around on Daft a bit more and figured I'd take a looksee at Dublin's finest 'studio' apartments...

FFS in all seriousness these things should be made illegal. Prisoners get better living conditions. Mold on the walls, the jacks door right beside you bed and the ability to open your 3rd hand 1980s gas oven WHILE IN BED!

They're friggen tiny.... I can't imagine living in one.

I think you'd just spend all day in the obligatory hard-back 'crying chair' they all seem to have wondering what you did to deserve THAT!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 265 ✭✭nosey rosie

Meh... with the over-supply of flats now, you could give them away with a burger now, and no-one would want them :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,023 ✭✭✭Fukuyama

If there's such an over supply, how the hell can landlords and letting agencies get away with charging such ridiculous prices. To be honest, a south Dublin home with three bedrooms isn't worth E1,200 a month. MAYBE 800 or so...

I guess once people are willing to pay....

Its exactly why so many got screwed buying houses and are now in negative equity. Went in with their eyes closed, and now cry about it.

    3 BEDROOMS!?

If I thought I'd be able to make 30k "making that,"
I'd have done it long ago.

If daft could do one thing to improve their site it would be allowing comments to be made on properties. Then we could tell the owners how fúckin stupid they are being with their prices
