Thanks for that. I've just removed the neck, pickguard and bridge from my guitar. Thing is the neck and bridge pickups are kinda hanging in there. Can't really be removed unless I cut the wires connecting them.

I assume they need to be removed before sanding begins? Here's a current pic:

    Picture.jpg

This is the first time I've tinkered with a guitar so it's all new to me!

  • Registered Users Posts: 907 ✭✭✭Den_M

Ok, so I just snipped the wires where they connected to the pickups and input jack and removed all the electronics, I assume this was alright? I'm gonna put some new pickups in once its finished anyway. Started removing the finish but only got this far before my hand cramped up as I have to use sandpaper...

    Picture2.jpg

What would make a good replacement for a Tele copy neck and bridge combination? I assume only a certain kind can fit in the neck position of a Telecaster?

Slightly old pic, since then I've gotten another PRS Santana SE, exactly the same but with a hardtail bridge. I've also gotten a Collings OM2H which is phenomenal!! I'll get a pic up later. Also missing from the picture are a Cort GB24 Bass and a Fender Precision Bass....What do we think of that collective?? :D

Just bought a Schecter C-1 Hellraiser from Boards.ie's own Deadskin.
That Edwards he posted above must have been the reason for selling! ;)

Won this beauty on ebay today - another 92 Eggle Berlin Pro - I just couldn't help myself - I've been GASing over it all week. I love my 92 "Salmon" (ok its actually known as Pink Glow) Berlin Pro, but man the sun burst just gets me :D. The typical Berlin Pro "in my mind" was always a sun burst (think this was known as cherry burst in the day). With a bit of luck I'll have it by Wednesday and please [deity] it arrives in one piece.

So I've had it since April but forgot to post them... She;s great. The 57's are a lot warmer than the pups in my LP Standard and the Bigsby is great even if it doesn't quite stay in tune - I need to take off the factory strings and re-string it right. the best thing is the 50's neck - I love it! and it looks amazing in my opinion.

On the look out for an SG Classic, Firebird. Fender Jag and Les Paul Recording. I'd say watch this space but it'll probably take me years to get the cash together!!!

Before you ask, the sparkly explorer - got a good deal (not surprised says you), it plays and sounds very nice. Would I be seen outside the house with it? Hell no. Long term plan is to sand off the finish and have a nice natural explorer but we'll see

I don't know if this pic is clear enough, but there's guitar volume, 3 eq controls and synth volume for the midi output. Above that there's a mid-selector and program up and down for controlling patches in a guitar synth unit.

The other two are a Country Gent by Johnson I've fitted with GFS Dream 90 pickups, and an Eastwood Delta 6 Resonator.:pac:

The Godin I picked up on chrisguitars, and the other two right here on adverts.

Well after a week in Customs I have finally received my latest guitar and taken a few pictures. It's a strat as you can see but it is one sweet strat. The neck (birds eye maple) is probably the smoothest feeling neck I have. The fretboard is Honduras Rose Wood which I haven't plated before but it is real nice. It is soo easy to play. All the strat tones are there and once again I am amazed by the quality.

Oddly enough I have bought and sold a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul and replaced both with far superior MIJ versions. I'm not knocking Fender or Gibson just stating a fact.

Since I've done a hefty amount of selling and a bit of trading this year, I figured it was time to get the 4's together for a group shot. Every one of these basses is different, both in feel and especially in tone. Lovely stuff.

    jm4s.jpg

My trusty old ESP, the greatest Jazz I've ever played in every aspect, ever.

    jmesp1.jpg

The Bacchus P. Probably my favourite bass right now. This thing just rocks my balls.

    jmpee.jpg

The Sadowsky. This is a very nice bass indeed.

    jmsad.jpg

The Streamer. Think Newsted's black album tone and you've got the idea.

    jmwar.jpg

The Stingray. I avoided these for years after the dreaded bad-white-funk craze of the early 90's but this is a great instrument with a unique tone. I like it.

    Mmmmmmmm Bacchus!:pac::D:):pac:!!!
Well, it's a tad different from the one that i posted earlier on this forum, but, MY GOD is it good. The craftsmanship on it is unreal, the body is 2 piece, and the join is almost perfect. And the neck....it plays like butter, silky smooth, i'll have to pop some 11's on it though, i think it has 9's at the mo, and boy howdy are they slinky. Well enough blabbering, here's some pics!

    Ok, the whole show!
My first bass, an SX P, was always a good player, but now heavily modded with a DiMarzio X2N-7 and Kahler Trem.
    X2N-7Mods9.jpg
Of course, my latest a Shine SBA-616, super tight spacing, 15mm at the bridge and the neck is 2" at the nut, real flat back too.
    6er.jpg
My 8 string, a Venson(cheapie chineze), great tone, picked up cheap on a holiday to Germany, mega neck dive, needs Utralights sometime, not bothered for now.
    Germany020.jpg
My Jazz, I bought this as a fretless MIM Fender, but weeks later came across a far better fretless Jazz, so I striped this to parts, and built it as a parts bass, adding to it in stages, a Mighty Mite neck, Kahler Trem, pearl topped black dome knobs, Pearloid pickguard, and Bill Lawrence Jazz/buckers, also got a series/parallel push/pull.
    Germany026.jpg
    Pre Modding,
    DSC00006.jpg
My 5 string Squier Delux, wanted a 5, heard these were good, tried one, agreed, bought it, huge neck though, bigger than my 6er.
    SquierV2.jpg
Cort GB-74, just fell in love with it, and got a nice discount, who could say no, switch is modded from single/humbucking/single to series/parallel/single.
    GB-74.jpg
Fretless Tribal Sun. Loved my first Traben, saw this on eBay, nuff said. :D
    Photo-0013.jpg

  • Registered Users Posts: 476 ✭✭Darkstrike

My Cort Artisan C4H, good tone with a fantastic raw wenge neck.
    CortArtisan007.jpg
Traben Kore 4, saw this in a window in Kenmare, sent someone to buy it shortly after, on a chance, heaviest bass I've played, awesome sound, and feel, 35" scale, I added a Hipshot D tuner. My No.1, in BEAD at the moment.
    DSC00092.jpg
    S5030285.jpg
My Squier VM Fretless, the wood is badly mismatched, but it buried the Fender I bought just weeks before, I felt sick, and you can see how it ended above!:D The wood problem dosn't matter really, I'll paint it yellow sometime.
    squier006.jpg
My Richwood Acoustic Bass Guitar, bought it as a beater for jammin' and thats what it does, suprisingly loud, nice sound, with some decent strings, I use electric, I hate brass/bronze stings.
    acbass.jpg
Tanglewood Rebel 4K, awesome rock tone, hum free on the jazz pickup(once I done a good shield job), dreadful neck, horrible altogether, I need to re shape it down a lot, or add a fifth string.
    S5030242.jpg
Cort EVL Z4B, my second bass only one I played for ages, due to my SX being broken, I still love it, the matte finish is almost all worn to shine now.
    S5030243.jpg
I got a guitar or two, a mandolin, lap steel, and a banjo too.
But I'm all about the bass.:D

Damn' long post's, sorry about that!

Ok, so I really wasn't in the market but when I came across this little gem on my travels I just couldn't let it slip by ;). Really loved the colour (USA Blue). As an added bonus the guitar and case are like new, its as if someone bought it back in 1992 but hardly ever played it - even came with the original documentation and hanging tags.
