add that to Arsenal supposidly already having the Podolski deal done for around 10m and it seems clubs are getting started early this year. Any other deals rumoured to be already done?

with the euros in june i am not surprised clubs are starting early in their summer signings. prices will be inflated after the tournament depending who has a good campaign.

Montolivo is joining Milan on a free transfer, right? Also Bayern have signed M'gladbach defender Dante and it appears as though they're getting veteran striker Claudio Pizarro from Werder Bremen.

Can see M'Vila being snapped up by Arsenal or Inter before the tournament starts and Barcelona going for Thiago Silva.

Aside from that, I think PSG will be busy and Juve will certainly splash out €20m+ on a striker

I'd like to see us get Kagawa as well as Podolski (which is pretty much done tbh). We need much better quality in the front 4.

Selling Gervinho to D.I.D. as a 90,000w bulb would be nice too.

Juve will unsuccesfully bid for Cavani and van Persie. It's hard to see who they will be able to get who is good enough.

Liverpool have put a 40m deposit on Grant Holt.

Jordi Alba will be a Barca player before the Euro's me thinks, also if Spurs don't get top 4, or CL football (which looks very likely considering everything), then I'd fancy them to make a bid for Bale. Modric will probably be gone too, where though is the question. If Chelsea get CL football then they'd have to be favouites, otherwise United are in with a shout.

Just reading there on a German website, that Kagawa is not looking for a new contract, but that he has not signed somewhere else either. Everything hanging in the balance in the moment, but I won't be happy, if he is leaving Borussia Dortmund

    Raphael Honigstein twitter:

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc: Kagawa likely to leave the club.

Kagawa: United have reportedly offered him GBP 96k per week, doubling Dortmund's offer. Not sure I believe that figure though.

more Zorc: Kagawa's rejection of new contract makes selling him unavoidable (I'm paraphrasing)

He's a decent player... I was harping on about him for ages hoping he would go to Liverpool after we were linked during Rafa's days, but he's stagnated at Bremen the last year and a half. Hoped he would take his talent to the next level but hasn't. Seems he's happy being the player he is, occasional flashes of brilliance before fading for weeks on end. Like Kess said in the LFC superthread, he doesn't look like he has the heart a lot of the time.

ye dont need Jack Rodwell. if chelsea come in with a big of around 20million, ye should bite their hands off. would ye get Dempsey and maybe 2 low cost signings like Gibson and Jelavic for 20-25million?

If I was a player I'd be on the phone to his agent hiring him really! He plays sh*t yet moves to a bigger team on more money for €8m.

Not much hype about him. He is a quality player, not overrated at all. It will be interesting to see how he does in a more physical league.

How good is Kagawa, he must be decent if he scores a goal ever 2 games and wins the league with Borussia but if you united sign him they wont solve there midfield problems, he seems to play just behind a sole striker, United should go for M;Vila or Martinez aswell, which of those two are better?

Without disrespecting Everton fans, wouldn't Fulham to Everton be a sideways step for Dempsey, surely if he moves it will be to a bigger club?

That's just because his current contract expires in 2013, with the possibility that he might leave on a free transfer, if he would stay another year in Dortmund.

Martinez is a super player and IMO, exactly what United need. Defensive minded, but absolutely gifted on the Ball. i dont think however, united would be an attractive proposition for him.

will he and Munian be in the Spanish squad for the euros? I also really like the look of Iteraspe from Bilbao also...he probably would cost alot less than Martinez.

Think I've talked about him a few times already in the United thread, amongst the Bundesliga and Liverpool thread. But to answer your Q here..

I've been pulling the Kagawa bandwagon for 2 seasons now from the gambling forum to here in the soccer forum :) He's an excellent, very intelligent footballer and is capable of improving even more. He is far more talented than the good but very much overhyped fellow countryman, Honda at CSKA. I rate him very highly if it wasn't already obvious(!) and the reported fees being brandied about is a steal even if he does have a year left on his contract. I've very little doubts he'll be an valuable player for whatever club he does end up, I just hope it's not United. If I'm honest, if I were a United fan I'd be wanting a Martinez, M'Vila, Belhanda, etc instead of him. An attacking midfielder however good he is, is not what is needed going from what I've seen myself and heard of other United supporters.

a creative midfielder is first priority. look at the difference scholes has made since he came back for instance, before that united were flat and playhing awful football for 5 months apart from 3 or 4 games.

what do you class scholes as, in relation to Kagawa, are they a similar type of player, or completely different?

to be honest, united need somebody like Martinez AND an attacking midfielder. also, why do you say you hope its not united, do you think he is not good enought?

Kagawa is an attacking midfielder or a support striker at a push if you will depending on the formation. Anywhere else played is wasted IMHO. He could probably do a job out on the wings if need be but his influence is there for all to see when he has a free role from the middle, be it drifting out to either wing, coming short to pick up the ball or even playing as a false No.9 at times.

If Kagawa played CM with a defined role that from what I've seen some in the United thread are guessing he might do, watch him be overrun. He's isn't great defensively and at times is quite lazy ie: letting players drift past him without picking up the run or not bothering with a challenge. That's probably my main flaw regarding him.

Scholes is a CM, pure and simple. But, he can play other roles too if need be even despite the age.

As for the last part, I'am a Liverpool supporter too ;)

Hazard's price is going up with every game he plays at the moment. After going a goal behind to PSG he scored the equalising penalty and then set up the second to put Lille 2 -1 in front.

EDIT ;Bit of a show off tbh... ;D

That might be the case, but FSG are very prudent and will factor in things like the wages that Maxi, Cole, Aquilani and Kuyt etc. are on if sold. They are all high earners so we're not talking pocket money. They'll look at money saved over the course of those contracts and will likely see fit to invest further this summer if it means saving money long-term.

Yeah and I'd assume whatever money they get from selling on any player during the summer can be reinvested, topping up that 20 million.

Appparently we've signed a 22 year old called Romain Amilfitano from Remis who are a Ligue 2 outfit.

Have no clue about him at all. Found this video on YouTube though.
