Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    looking for an ID.

recorded it off the radio about 12 years ago, i think  anyway, i remember the dj who played it said it was one of the tracks on 'trance wave 2', but i haven't located it, as there are only 2 tracks off that vinyl on youtube.
i haven't got a sample, as i haven't a clue what happened the tape but there were vocal samples on it , "yo dj pump this party".

it's a housey type tune, the vocal sample is sliced up goes, "yo..yo..yo dj. yo..yo..yo dj. yo..yo..yo dj. yo dj pump this party".

i know there are countless tunes with that sample in it, but someone might recognise it. it's deffo from 92/93 era, as has a really raw sound to it. not alot going on in it really, fairly simplistic tune, but less is definitely more in this case.

Here's the 3rd one ....... Mystic no Rhythm

Guessing the one your chasing is "Trance Shout"

:D In the meantime, you can "yo dj pump this party" to your hearts content with this classic ......

could be trance shout alright, was looking for it online earlier, and couldn't find it. tbh, it doesn't even sound trancey, it's more along a techno/house kinda sound, from what i remember.

nearly 10 years younger than yourself here, so 1st tune i can remember was this

but my fav still to this day is this

was a big Mtv kid at the time myself, with the likes of nirvana, pearl jam, alice in chains etc etc etc, i could go on and on with amazing band after amazing band. but the beasties were deffo up there with the best of them, sad loss, was a great vocalist, and will be missed in these drab musical times.

I truely believe the Beastie Boys broke down musical barriers for alot of 'white rock' type bands in the 80's and paved the way for the fusion sounds of bands like Faith no More,RATM,Limp B,Linkin P.

The first time I saw the Beastie's was on an Irish program that used to be on RTE2 on a Sunday 'MT USA' they were covering a report on Breakdancing.

Not long after that, they were in the charts with 'No Sleep til Brooklyn' & 'Fight for your Right' in quick succession.

They also appeared (briefly) in the film 'Krush Groove' , a film loosely based on the birth of Def Jam records - who's founder was the Beasties first DJ and in turn making the Beastie's one of the 1st acts signed to Def Jam.

They've transitioned their style from Punk to Hip Hop to Rap Rock to Rock effortlessly since starting out! Licence to Ill,Hello Nasty & Ill Communcation are testament to their brilliance.

I'm absolutely gutted hearing of MCA's death,he (and the band) was a big inspiration behind 'The Chrome Angelz' :o .... i was young dumb n full of piss n vinegar!

Can anyone satisfy my curiousity, I've been working in the area for a few years now and often have occasion to walk down Sackville Place - I am curious as to where exactly on Sackville Place the Asylum was? There are a few derelict buildings there now, but most of the buildings seem to be occupied.
