Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Deep-Heat Expired?

    Hi got some really bad leg pains from soccer last night :(
    Have some deep heat here but expired since April 2009 :rolleyes:
    would it be alright to use it?

    I bet years ago there were no dates on deep heat, so you would have used it without a second thought, I bet mine is "out of date", never even noticed a date. It should be fine, I can only imagine it might have slightly weakened over the years but its not like its proper antibiotics you are taking or something where dosage and activity of the ingredients is quite important.

    Many manufacturers use dates to force retailers to restock, and to prevent them stocking up if a wholesaler/manufacturer offer is on. It also prevents shops having tatty old boxes with old logos etc on them.

    In the 80's I never saw a BB date on a tin of beans

    Used my deep heat spray the last day. Bout 3 years out of date. Absolutely burned the thigh off me, way hotter than usual. Left a bit of a mark but did a seriously good job

    I've just used some on my neck which had a best before date of 2018 (the Deep Heat, not my neck). I thought "sure it can't do me any harm".

    It is still incredibly strong. God knows what they must put in it.
