Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

44 points do far with Enrique to play(hopefully)

Petrov hopefully will bag 3BP. Might be asking too much for Rooney to get 3 as I had him as captain.

What league is this and how does one go about getting into such a league next year? Juicy prizepool, what was the entry?

Earlier in the season, I was hosting an event in a semi-popular Dublin bar. I was talking to the manager (or owner? I'm not sure, someone "up high".) and the topic of FPL came up because they had their own league going with a €500 prize. He suggested I should join it. So I did. This was roughly in week 6-8 though, so that didn't please some people when a newbie joined and went straight to the top.

He got in touch and said a couple had complained so it'd be better for him if I dropped out, but to apologise for my troubles he emailed me a little program to download, which was actually like an FPL app that his friend made, where he kept track of a few dozen team scores. So I entered my team number, and just like that I was part of a 40-something person league with a bunch of hotel/bar owners with more money than brains. I entered about 8th in that league, so there were no complaints. That's when form kicked in and I pretty much blew all but one of them away.

TL;DR: You don't go about joining. You piss people off, get lucky, and get in for free. :D

Why do they track the scores off site when the FPL site does it perfectly well itself?

    seems bizarre

As far as I know, the guy who designed it is an amateur programmer who does things like that as a hobby. So it was more for him, I guess. It automatically calculates the top weekly scores of the season, the monthly winners, and things like that; showing them all in the one very basic looking display, so it's actually pretty handy.

It also means they had full control over everything, from adding/removing people, or in one case (that I know of) including a guy who only made his team in week 3, so they added the average scores (-10) from week 1 and 2 to his score total to keep him involved.

Considering the money involved, it's been all very laid back. Like I said the other day, the one guy in competition with me is more concerned about going away on holiday this week than winning the extra €2000 (he's guarenteed at least 2nd). I can only assume most of these guys are loaded, knowing a few of them own bar/hotel chains.

Rumours that Cech hasn't traveled to Liverpool. Sounds like Hilario is getting a game.

Do you know if Cahill has traveled? Hopefully not a rival has him !

Little chance of a Terry clean sheet so.

    Boni up now

Not sure bout this now but rvp has 26 points showing on my latest points page

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

    2 for Petrov. ****
    0 for Dempsey. ****

At least Rooney didn't get any.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

3 for captain VP and none for Rooney is great news. Though I'm missing the weekly prize for 2 miserable points.... Bloody Vermaelen (useless and wasted transfer ).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Ya 3 for rvp as expected. None for demps tho. Augero gets one as does silva. None for rooney. 2 a piece for Clichy and young.

Sees me to 61 pts plus 2 coming off the bench and skrtel (hopefully) to play tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,935 ✭✭✭AdpRo

58 with Skrtel tonight, about 45 pts down in money league, a Skrtel hat trick is the only thing that will leave me in with a shout of teh cash going into the final week (cue another OG and red card!!)

30 points to gain on leader going into final week. I think I can do it. Captain is key.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,389 ✭✭✭Thanos

I think my biggest mistake towards the end of the season was not taking a 4 point hit on the first of Boltons double game weeks to get in Petrov.

another 2 bonus for him this week and his points for the last few weeks have been nice, 12, 2, 5, 10, 7

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,462 ✭✭✭✭WoollyRedHat

Is Petrov worth a look in next week do you reckon?

Well he is on form it seems so even just looking at that i think he would be, like Moses was, although that did not work out, nothing is 100% in this game.

However, Bolton are playing to stay in the PL so they will be fighting all the way and with Man City up against QPR and needing a win to be sure I think he is well worth a punt.

Not even 1 BP this gameweek... F my life!!!

Captain choice for the next week is crucial to how the season ends for me!

My mistake was getting in Miyachi instead of Petrov. Desperate error on my behalf.

WTF is Dempsey doing that is causing him to consistanly underscore when it comes to bonus point allocation? He scores in a 2-1 win and gets none? madness!

He takes lots of potshots. This results in a few goals which is great but it also means he has a lot of shots off target so that hurts his PPI score resulting in fewer bonus points. The system really doesn't suit him.

Under the old system himself and Dembele would probably hog all the BPs.

I had a choice of Petrov or Stevie Ireland and went for Ireland because Coyle sometimes rotates the Bolton players.

One of my worst decisions this season.

F*ck it anyway, Chelsea getting hammered means mata is probally bound to come on at some stage ... Really need him to sit this one out due to a rival !

It'd be madness to bring him on. Just take the loss. If he gets injured from a stray tackle by Shelvey or the hacker Carragher then Chelsea haven't a hope in the CL final.

    Ramiers goal.
