Just listening to the 2562 vs A Made Up Sound podcast, very nice...

    http://www.littlewhiteearbuds.com/podcast/lwe-podcast-57-2562-vs-a-made-up-sound/
Dave Huismans has certainly been a busy man. After last year’s excellent Unbalance LP as 2562 he founded his own label A Made Up Sound as well as issued a one-off twelve as Blackout. Untethered by tempo and genre restrictions, Huismans injects loads of funk into kinetic tracks that detune and contort around technicolor synths and shattered beats. We caught up with Huismans to chat about his recent activity, the difference between his monikers, as well as some of his current favorites. He also provided our exclusive 57th podcast, full of fresh and exciting cuts from all corners of dance music.

yeah love that mix. the remix of that Wax tune is even nicer than the original. And that's saying something!!

I'll be playing at Stomp, in The South William, tomorrow night with Sub One and the Stomp residents - I'll be dropping plenty of that techy, dubby stuff, so if ye're around give a call in - it's free as well, so you can't go wrong really!

if it's any consolation, I couldn't get it on vinyl last time I tried.

Sorry to be a spamming bastard, but for anyone interested there'll be a video stream live from Stomp tonight from about midnight onwards; Sub One will be spinning some tasty bits, followed by myself from about 1.15 with some techy **** - tune in, or call down if you're in Dublin - no door tax either!

i had to go to sleep, but it was cool seeing on the net- pretty good sound quality too- considering it was streamed. bad buzz with the technical problems though- maybe u should move to records :D:D:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 229 ✭✭cjfitz

I do also play vinyl - have been for almost ten years - just can't afford to live/go to Uni/have a social life etc. and buy loads of vinyl, moreover when I'm into a few different genres, more's the pity :(

Deffo not ruined mate, I have no doubt that you were thrown and felt you could have performed better if Traktor was treating you right but there was no train wreckage and you were at your usual standard of top quality selection.

As i said last night, we will most assuredly bring you back again in the future for a trouble free night ( might has just cursed the whole show ) if you will come back and play for us again.

One dodgy night or no, you still put together some of the best sets doing the rounds at the moment and that cannot be denied.

Ah ya, sound man - wasn't having a go at you or anyone else, just disappointed with the set overall.......could've been a lot better TBH

Just wanted to say that all the stuff I've been hearing on this thread has been brilliant. It's an area/genre/whatever that I didn't know much about but I'm really really starting to enjoy the more I hear it. Keep up the good work lads and keep posting up the tunes so that this lazy arsehole doesn't have to bother trying to look for himself.

It's been like so random having all these randomers put up all these random tunes…

This could be a little garagey for the thread that's in it, but it's a wicked tune, as is most of Synkro's stuff.

If this is garage, it's not the garage I remember from years ago. Please point me in the direction of more stuff like this. Absolutely beautiful.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,577 ✭✭✭Android 666

Somebody posted Reflex off the frames ep. This is a great tune as well.

I know this is pure dubstep with the bit of wibble thrown in and shouldn't really be here but I do love the lead on this:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,401 ✭✭✭jtsuited

Had an epic day shopping for this stuff in All City yesterday....here's some of what I picked up

Not on youtube but on the artist's soundcloud

    http://soundcloud.com/trg/cosmin-trg-liebe-suende-rush-hour

The flip is a good deal housier but epic nonetheless.

Picked up this beauty from 2008....

and the flip is something else

Of course you can't go record shopping without getting something by 2562/A Made Up Sound ....

Ignore the hiccups at the beginning

But the standout release is this friggin awesome white 10" on Irish label Naked Lunch.......

    Blown away by it

@ SteveDon Out on Monday on digital

This all started as the 'Bristol Sound'.
Pinch being the daddy followed by Headhunter, SkullDisco and Peverelist with Martyn and 2562's first (dubstep efforts) coming out on Bristol labels as well.
This is when Berlin (Hardwax/Berghain/T++/Shed etc..) started to pay attention, particularly Shackelton's 'Blood on my hands'

This documentary sums up the roots nicely.
    Blackdown Appleblim interview, Shackleton interview
    Pinch pitchfork feature

Key tunes: Pinch - Qawwali, Airlock

    Peverelist - The Grind

    Headhunter - Futurebound

Skull Disco - Vansan, Blood on my hands

    2562 - Channel two, Kameleon

TRG - Broken Heart (Martyn mix)

Scuba took hotflush and his other labels more and more down this direction when he moved away from breakstep.
His first album is well worth picking up.

Hessle Audio get a big mention for pushing this both on their label and their old radio show on SubFM (now on Rinse)
    Try this mix.

For anyone catching up, here's a few old and not so old bits.

Not anymore and in the past it was only ever hobby/parties etc, I only buy vinyl the odd time these days, buy lots of CDs though and have been tempted for a while now to add some sort of digital solution to my existing setup and get back into it. Funny actually, in the 16 odd years that I've had decks, I never once sent a demo mix anywhere!

Yeah, the flip on it is a sweet tune as well.

Picked these two up during the week as well ( not entirely sure as to their relevance as i tend to ignore genre issues and call music "good" or "bad"), the new Velour on Night Slugs is a cracking release.

    And the new Seiji.

And regarding the Boddika thing, that's one of the lads from Instra:mental (i think), also believe i saw Micky say somewhere that there will be more from him out on [nakedlunch]. Good news i reckon.
