BA282 A380 is heading for SNN. No idea why- apparently it will continue for LHR after 6pm?

I'm about 20 minutes away and would love to pop out to see it come in, but alas, I'm stuck where I am for another while. Another missed A380 opportunity for me then!

I presume this is collecting pax from BAW282. The A380 will be on the ground until repaired I guess...

Apparently the A380 diverted due to being out of crew hours- it already diverted to Toronto earlier in the flight

G-BNWA a shorthaul B767-300 is on a rescue misson. It will have a releif crew on board to bring back the A380 to LHR. It will probably bring First and Business class passengers also.
I beleive the A380 G-XLEC diverted to Toronto due water pressure issues on the aircraft. I also beleive the landing was classed as overweight and an appropriate inspection was carried out. It continured to LHR 4 hours later.

Due to the diversion the crew had gone out of hours and it was decided to divert to SNN.

that BA 767 took off a few mins ago.

theres an other Omni Air 767 just behind it, but i dont think they are the same, thats probably a US military flight aint it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,321 ✭✭✭Foggy43

G-BNWX is also a shorthaul B767. BA were talking of getting rid of the B767's at the end of the last century. We are now in the year 2014 and again the B767's come to the rescue!!!!!

is the second 767 (G-BNWA) already in Shannon?

if so, must be nice to see 3 unscheduled planes come in there close to each otehr, especially the 380. hopefully somebody gets a video of it leaving.

You don't see a Speedbird at SNN that isn't the Concorde-lite stopover from LCY-JFK for months and then they're training there and a few days later this too!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,254 ✭✭✭Oops!

Anybody have any idea when the A380 is due to leave Shannon?

That 20xx series of United flights usually seems to apply to contingency or out-of-schedule flights, from what I've seen.

For example if UAL77 is delayed overnight on departure from Belfast they usually reassign it a 20xx number to avoid confusion with the next day's sched flight.

Someone gone tech on the ground at Dublin?

Yesterday's UAL126 from Washington to Dublin ( due to arrive this morning ) was held overnight for some reason and UAL2055 is it coming in 12 hours late.

Today's UAL26 doesn't depart Washington for several more hours but United really seem to avoid having two identical flightnumbers on the same day.
