If you include away jerseys then Coventry City often have worn it. If you don't include away, then I think pink is also not worn by any major British club.
    Thanks.

While we're on the subject, what club south of the border plays in green and white? I think there's only one but open to correction.

That's less than 10 minutes ago, though I'd like to be clear on one thing- I wasn't watching Champions League coverage (ugh), I was flicking around during the ad break in First Dates.

Thanks, be interesting to see what they come back with.

If they come back at all, it's usually with a sense of mild deflation, often followed by renewed optimism- such is the way with the world of reality tv romance. Tune in next week!

    Oh, you mean the ASAI?

    I actually like this kit.

'Like', as opposed to 'would wear'.

For such a muted colour scheme it does the job - stands out in the Peleton, strong point of difference, blah blah.

If* I got my hands on it I would play with switching the colours around and making the light blue more dominant.

*My therapist made me give up kit design. I'm beginning to sleep through the night and the panic attacks have abated.

Fairly sick this morning, after checking my betting slip, I did a €5 placepot yesterday (Cheltenham), I would have had it (£193 sterling) only for one horse, Ballycasey, he finished 4th, I needed him to finish at least 3rd.
Imagine walking into the bookies this morning and them handing over nearly a grand(worth) in sterling :o

Actually it's the straighter ones I'm looking for, that's perfect apart from the shipping cost.

Ps: Saw a Croix de Fer in town the other day with (blergh) flatbars....my vote goes to the Flyer.

Velo Orange in the 'States make lovely stuff. I'm always raving about it. You can get it from Fresh Tripe in the UK.

Nitto also do lovely stuff, but not sure where to pick it up this side of the world.

Have bought nitto from hubjub in the past.

And velo solo do it too I think?

I second the velo orange recommendation! Will from freshtripe is very good to deal with too

^^^ Strange one. Starting gate got stuck, but that pair didn't hear/see that they'd stopped the race?

A great tragedy befell me this evening...

I broke the frame on my beloved Beater. I've had it for more than 20 years so it owes me nothing but I always presumed I'd be cycling it for another 20 :(. I'm going to get another commuter/beater but this one is of great sentimental value and only the other day I was thinking about what a classy frame it is, comfortable, fast and super responsive so I'm considering a repair.

Is such a repair even possible and if so is it advisable? Its a K2 Cromoly lugged frame circa 1992 and the seat tube has snapped right where it meets the bottom bracket lug. My gut is telling me that any repair like a weld would be ineffectual or even dangerous.

Any thoughts or advice for me?

There were very few "commuter" cyclists on the road during December, January and February in my area.

Not many this month so far.

As a new cyclist and based on the glorious morning we had on Tuesday/Wednesday and the amount of cyclist out versus the crap weather today and the much, much lesser amount, I can only assume there are a sh1t load of fairweather commuters somewhere who will be hitting the road as the weather gets better and better.

    A_sh1tload.

Team Sprint, you wouldn't. Head down, all out. The first girl was moving off at what is the designated transfer area and the girl behind would actually have been accelerating into her. There's only supposed to be the two of you on the track. They should have had someone at the the corner to warn them.

Not much sign of that in Galway. I was out and about in glorious sunshine yesterday afternoon, in a location where a number of schools are located, and the roads, footpaths and grass verges were covered in cars. I recall seeing one cyclist.

Irene Aravena suffered a fractured knee and femur.

Welding isn't like super gluing it back together again, so to speak.
If you take it to a specialist welder, they can work wonders. They might be able to use an insert to strengthen the original break area. The only worry would be if there are any other stressed points on the bike at this stage? Or how bad the condition of the bike is?

The condition is probably not optimal, it has always been mechanically functional but had become a bit of a frankenbike in the last 12 months as I haven't had a budget to replace parts. Ironically enough I always thought the Frame was the one part of it that I didn't have to worry about.

I won't throw it on the scrap heap yet but on a cost benefit analysis a new bike is the only way to go, its just a matter of finding the right one.:D

Yeah I didn't really have a clue till I saw the details on reddit.

The guy with the flag should have been up at the corner, he clearly had no idea how the actual riders operate. You can see Aravena isn't even watching (why would she), and is preparing to sprint off when the other rider breaks. By that stage she's 2/3 metres from the stuck gate and no chance.

Though fair fncks to her you can see when given the choice between skittling the marshalls out of it or hitting the solid metal object, she goes for the latter and undoubtedly comes out worse for it.

if it's lugged it mightn't be welded at all. it may be brazed and the filler could be heated and the seat tube removed and a new one put in and brazed again. The cost of this mighty be prohibitive though ao it really depends how sentimental you are. is it worth the extra over another secondhand steel lugged frame?

Reminds me of trigger in only fools and horses.

It is a pain tho, I got cracks in the top tube of my 90s steel racer where the I internal cable holes were. was sad to see it go as it was the bike I used to get back into cycling. made more sense just to buy a cheap second hand aluminium job.

Very interesting this. About how attitudes to driving and street use in the USA changed from the early twentieth century. Good reproductions of posters from the past too.

    http://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/murder-machines/
By the end of the 1920s, more than 200,000 Americans had been killed by automobiles. Most of these fatalities were pedestrians in cities, and the majority of these were children. “If a kid is hit in a street in 2014, I think our first reaction would be to ask, ‘What parent is so neglectful that they let their child play in the street?,’” says Norton.

“In 1914, it was pretty much the opposite. It was more like, ‘What evil bastard would drive their speeding car where a kid might be playing?’ That tells us how much our outlook on the public street has changed—blaming the driver was really automatic then. It didn’t help if they said something like, ‘The kid darted out into the street!,’ because the answer would’ve been, ‘That’s what kids do. By choosing to operate this dangerous machine, it’s your job to watch out for others.’

More than likely she's actually at full tilt. Second TS rider sprints at first rider just before they pull up so they're at 100% when they hit the wind/air resistance rather than trying to accelerate on their own.
