Hey folks - MY freesat Technisat HDFS has just auto retuned to the new Astra 1N version of Channel 4HD. Just noticed this minute, this is obviously in line with the 1N roll-out - but for those who are not using freesat receivers, they will obviously have to retune to the new frequency manually - No mention of the frequency change on joinfreesat or anywhere else but i must have happened earlier today.

anyway id say the eurobird version will vanish in days!

    Bring on 5* and 5USA!

Sic semper tyrannis - thus always to Tyrants

After a full manual scan of my VU+ Duo just now, I see one C4 HD channel at 12606v. So I'm wondering, why is the box not seeing the other one coming off N1? Do I need a satellites.xml file or something?

Just do a manual scan on the ch4 transponder.

    11127 V 22000 ID=21200 2/3 DVB-S2

It will appear with channel name 21200

Had to retune my Humax Foxsat this evening. 4HD gone off 12606V. Now at 11127V with EPG info. Normally the box prompts you to retune when there are channel changes. Didn't happen in this case.

Think its changed to the new frequency on Sky+ HD box too. Signal stength and quality seem higher than before.

Scanning on those values gives me nothing. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT:Hang on, Im finding it with a FEC of 7/8. How come ? Everyone else is using 2/3

Only on the UK EPG. Can't be tuned via Add Channels for Sky+ HD boxes on RoI subscriptions. Need at least a UK FTV card to access the UK EPG to get it.

Also a Sky+ HD box thats never been paired with an RoI subs card will have the UK EPG as the default EPG and therefore 4HD at channel 140.

    Folks

    Can anyone else please confirm.....

I am getting CH HD at the following
    11127 V 22000 ID=21200 7/8 DVB-S2

but everyone is getting it on
    11127 V 22000 ID=21200 2/3 DVB-S2

Difference is I am using FEC 7/8 as opposed to 2/3.

So why is this? makes no sense? Reason I'm worried is that I just updated software on my box and am worried I may have a bug.

Hard to know. BBC1 HD and BBC HD have made it on to the RoI EPG. 4HD may follow.

It's coming in at 99% versus 56% before on the older TP

Try adding 8PSK into the parameters given above, if possible.

my Humax currenty has C4HD tuned at 12.606
Signal and quality are the same as they normally are .

the info banner has the following
top line : up to half green (90% ish)
bottom line: up to full orange (65% ish)

now the thing is, i;m getting the Scrambled or Not currently available message...
is just me and the rain and the piss poor EB TP ? ?

On C4HD go to Menu>System > Diagnostics and you will see the exact percentages.

The figures you are quoting should be enough to see a picture, but I have nothing either.

Something odd is going on here. Why has the Humax not auto retuned? Anyway we are not alone.

See discussion on post 25 here
    http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/index.php/channel-5plus1-5usa-and-5star-join-freesat-next-month

My Humax box is always in stand by at night so it normally processes channel updates, but not this time.

I will do a manual re scan now to see if C4HD comes in from the new position.

edit: Ya that did the trick. It's a strange one. Checked with my sister and her Humax had updated automatically

i have often gottten a picture with worse signal/Quality
i didn't check the exact %'s but just started a freesat retune.... and

    HEY PRESTO..
    C4HD @ 11.1126 with full bars for sig/Quality
    Sig: 100%
    Quality: 100%

    :D:D:D

for anyone else using a Freesat box havingthis problem

"Menu ---> Setup ---> Freesat Tune ---> Search"

btw.. i never put the box into stand by at night
