If you check for dvd's on Kelkoo, alot of time you will get discounts for some of the affiliates,

this is the case for cdwow/The hut etc - if you use the affiliate link for the offer it shows you, you'll get between 50p -£1.00 off depending on the price! Handy for cdwow now the £1.00 off couchers seem to by dying off!

I know Kelkoo doesnt show if shipping free/able to Ireland (and havent tried the other!)

Most dvd retailers on the likes of www.find-dvd.co.uk and www.kelkoo.co.uk DO ship to ROI free of charges, only ones I know that charge are select/choices/dvd.co.uk....most of the other major ones are free

Look, every site have the cost of P & P factored into the price of a particular product. Its not exclusive to Play.com.

When you go through the process of buying from them their web site states that P & P is free so if you have a problem with that then take it up with them and dont misquote me.

Most of the price comparison sites are already listed in the charter & resources thread which is stickied.

I Find the book depository to be one of the online bookstores around. They usually beat amazons price and show it on their site.

I recently read that there's a push for Irish online retailers to provide a list of their prices for the purposes of a price comparison site. It might have been something linked with Tesco's price "reductions" and transparency etc.

Yes, the National Consumer Agency are in making a grocery database containing price information which you could use to make comparisons on the cost of goods. I think tesco were saying they were willing to participate.

Apparently the supermarkets are very busy checking each others prices on a daily basis, i.e. sending their people around to the competition to check prices.

In a time of deflation and loads of people losing jobs, prices will fall, and fall very very fast over the rest of the year.

The NCA's plan could best be described using the following words, re-arrange them to get the meaning..."door the after bolted has horse the closing". This should have been done years ago when we were getting screwed by every supermarket. The NCA are now busy trying to justify their existence after the bord snip report, which is interesting because I have NEVER seen them stand up for the consumer before.

Well ye your right because in the latest figures of same goods, i think their was only 1 euro in the difference between tesco and dunnes! It varied slightly then with selecting branded and nonbranded goods. Supervalu came out very good on one of the results. Think superquinn was about €15 more. Despite the price comparing/matching going on a site to compare all the big stores would be helpful i think.

Development on a site redesign and IKEA comparison functionality is almost complete and hope to release very soon.
