Well I'm finding connecting to the CS network on my e66 a pain in the bollix. So far I've been able to connect on my laptop with a variety of encryption and authentication protocol, however on the e66 only wep with leap works and even then it fails to find the gateway, some how.

    Is COMPsci staff only?

Do you want settings for TCDwifi? Cause they arent blatantly obvious, and are not as you would expect based on the laptop settings.

I'm unsure what the story with COMPSci wireless is. I'm a postgrad in a CS building so I've an account which allows me access to there network.

I've actually figured out the problem, I need to set the proxy on the browser and I can't find the option to do so.

You might as well go a head and put up the TCDWiFi settings. I guess WEP & LEAP or WPA and PEAP.

Edit, Found proxy setting, tools > Settings >Access Point > COMPSCIWireless > Options > Advance Settings >Proxy Server , Proxy Port #

    I'm online, man this sucks.

Prestige and respect are awesome! :)

Plus, I'm thisclose to successfully getting all my debating teams to Cork intact. And I have a weekend of debating, frisbee and chilling out ahead of me, followed by reading week. I'm also 2 days from retirement, newly married and just uttered the words "I'm going to be just fine!" aloud, just to tempt fate even more. :D

Such is the life of a postgrad.

Matthew; Thank you, I'd wondered about 801.1x setting. I couldn't get it to work with peap though.

I won best costume at a Halloween party last night. Kinda odd, considering I was wearing a bin liner.

Hahaha.. I use the external tcd proxy to download multiple items off those sites when i am at home :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,699 ✭✭✭Brian

Does that work? I've sometimes tried to accidentally connect through the TCD proxy when using mobile broadband, just by forgetting to change the settings in Firefox, and the web just doesn't work. I don't get any authentication dialog.

I ate too much Indian food. Now I can't move. If I feel better at all before the night is out I'll make a stab at going out.

Besides, I've already been to a Halloween party this week with the coolest people possible - film studies students.
