Does anyone know how these work?

I am trying to dismantle built in wardrobes but want to reuse them in another room. They are connected by these things.

I have unscrewed the screw but it just keeps turning around.

    Any help appreciated!

Not sure what "these things" are (did you mean to attach a picture?) - but i recently took built in wardrobes apart and there were screws with plastic cover on them holding panels together.
They had a kind of nut on the other side - hard to explain - but check is there anything on the other side of the panel to where you are screwing.

Often a screw at both sides, you'll need to grip both to dismantle.

As per lgk's post, here's the fitting. Flathead/philips on both sides.
