Did you cut or remove the surplus wires from the original iso power lead or have you connected it directly to the new head unit.

If you used the supplied ISO lead, try swapping the red & yellow wires. Most will come with 'bullet' type connectors to enable you to do this.

This sounds like a standard feature of your car. Ignition feed to radio is probably on a timer and also comes on upon unlocking the doors as a convenience feature.
