Not sure if I am in the right spot, but here goes.

Up to a couple of weeks ago, I had a 32in flat screen Samsung, approx. 4 yrs old. It developed a habit of turning itself off and on...

I had been thinking of upgrading to a smart tv, so rather than repair it, I gave it away (it is since working fine) and got a new 32in smart tv...which after only two weeks has started knocking itself on and off.

Both of above had a sound bar and blur ray player connected.

Anyone got any idea whats going on?

Disconnect the Blu-Ray player and see if it makes any difference. It's possible that one of the two connected devices has a fault and is telling the TV to switch off via the HDMI cable. A solution which would bypass the issue is if you go to the TV menus and tell it not to accept remote commands from the HDMI connected devices. The various manufacturers have different titles for this facility, Philips calls it Easylink but the generic term is HDMI-CEC.

Is it possible that someone changed the menu settings on the Blu-Ray player to timeout after nn minutes? It might then be going into low-power mode and taking down the TV with it.
