Going to be a lot of trouble now in south Africa, ive heard it from many people from there down the years that when Mandela dies there are going to be major race wars there.

RIP. Possibly one of the most influential (for good reasons) individuals in 20th century history.

Very sad day. The world has lost a truly inspirational man. RIP Mandela, may you continue to look down on, and bless a nation you loved and fought so much for.

I don't think so. There was predictions of major violence in the world cup that amounted to nothing.

May he rest in peace. He certainly didn't have much of that over the last few years with the amount of high profile legal battles between his family members, and other vultures trying to cash in on his name.

Just to be a grouch - he died.

People pass exams; he/she passed his/her exams.

If you're religious, you can pass from this world to the next.
If you're spiritual, you can pass to a different dimension.

But for heaven's sake, use the proper expression.

    RIP anyway.

    R.I.P Nelson Mandela,

I visited robben island and visited his cell. What a struggle against a racist bigoted system he and many others had not only in South Africa but throughout the world and in the North of this island as well.

It's not being a grouch, it is being pedantic.

A true icon of the twentieth century.

Definitely the biggest "celebrity" death of my 25 years. Not that it should be regarded as celebrity.

    RIP

It's not. Saying people have "passed" when referring to them dying is the stupidest possible expression. It is just ridiculous.
