Steam - Installing games to different directory

Using the Steam beta atm in order to be able to install games to a different hard drive. Problem is the constant platform updating is driving me nuts.

Is it possible to install to a different HD on the current stable version yet?

AFAIK when you're installing steam, you can select D as the install directory and all your files will install to the D drive.

You can also do it manually:

Yeah, I used the symbolic link trick to have individual games on other HD's. Then when I heard the Steam beta gave you the option to install games on other HD's I used that. Just wondering if this beta functionality is in the full version now.
