It can vary depending on the retailer that you click through, and most of the 'Survey' for free cashback ones don't seem to work.

However, Out of €72 cashback that I have earned through purchases, etc. I have received €60 actual cash back so far (about 80% success rate so far, with a couple that I know will yet come in - iTunes purchases are fairly reliable).

Lodging a claim ticket for an incomplete transaction can be fairly inconsistent, I have heard. I have about a 60% success rate there, other ones appear to be left to fester. The ones that were successfully completed were for large enough amounts (€10-20 for Mobile phone purchases), so it's better than nothing.

Anyway, here's my referral link (set to share 50-50) if anyone would like to use it:

I've gotten about a tenner back so far but haven't been buying much on-line tbh. Kicking myself that I forgot about fatcheese when booking a holiday before Christmas via GroupOn.

This might be of interest -

Claim update on April 12, 2012 - After several months of negotiations, we are pleased to say we have been able to reach an agreement with a large number of our retailers as to the process of how claims are investigated by them. Your claim has been resent to the retailer using the new system and is currently being investigated by them. This new system means we will have a resolution for the claim by the 4th May (the transaction gets auto-approved if they do not reply within this time) and we will update you as soon as we have heard back from them.

    Many thanks for your patience.

I've withdrawn about 180 with another 180 pending and 2 claims still open. The above was the reply to one of them.

I've noticed that Fatcheese have started sending an e-mail confirming Transaction tracking. That has been one of the gripes with the site, you were never sure whether the transaction was tracked. This removes that guesswork and should help if there's ever a question over a transaction.

Here's a sample e-mail I got during the week: I removed some personal / tracking info.
From: FatCheese.ie [mailto: news -AT- fatcheese.ie]
    Sent: 03 September 2012 11:01
    To: xxxxxxxxx@craggyisland.ie
    Subject: Transaction tracking confirmation - <Vendor XYZ>

I'm due over 100 quid from Hotels.com via Fatcheese and even though I stayed at the hotel 2 months ago, the estimated award date is still "following your stay"

have submitted a ticket and waiting to hear back...

I'm afraid you'll be waiting. I have some claims going back almost a year and no response to any tickets or claims.

Did you use any discount code while booking....if you did then hotels.com sometimes reject the referral... Well they have done to me both times I've used codes

i have a good few debenhams pending since May. Also last one didn't track, quite annoying along with an O2 purchase.

I'm due Hotels.com cashback for a stay in Chicago December 2011.

Tickets are met with silence, fairly shoddy stuff tbh.

Crap, wouldn't have spent so much on the hotel in that case

Wow, that really sucks - have you tried contacting Hotels.com? Does yours still say 'following stay'?

Fatcheese are not answering tickets or investigating claims. I've been trying to communicate with them for months about a claim. Nothing. Terrible customer service. Avoid!

The last time I spoke with Hotels.com (on an unrelated matter), it was with a call centre in Bangalore. So not sure how optimistic I'd be going down that route.

The status of my claim is 'Pending' - The estimated award date shows as 'Following Stay'.

oh right, same as me - I might try and email Hotels.com and let them know they're affiliated with a company who make promises on their behalf and fail to deliver, hopefully they will take action but I won't hold my breath, will forget about the cash too and mark it down as lesson learned. Might also get onto the Consumer Agency...

I'm due over €100 from hotels.com for a hotel i stayed in in January. I have a claim in with them, but they just ignore it.
    Not just for hotels.com either.

I wouldnt use fatcheese again unless there was someway they would verify the transaction is valid before you pay for the hotel or whetever.

Avoid and save yourself some frustration is my advice on Fatcheese.

    Hotels.com - over a year waiting
    AA over 6 months waiting
    Stenaline - Over 4 months

Tickets raised on all the above and silence.

This company is no longer credible in my view.

Just logged on tonight to see if there was any update and in my 'ticket' section there's a message saying:

Please note: We are currently resolving an error with our ticketing system. This should be resolved shortly with a new system being launched. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

has this been up for long does anyone know?
