    If you are remotely interested in the Prothean / Space Jamaican then get the CE, if what I have seen so far is all there is to Ashes then you will feel very ripped off paying for it on it's own
    A very short/ small level and a few minutes of decent historical cutscenes are about it
    - but alongside the soundtrack and other materials in the CE it's not a hard pill to swallow.

    Apologies if this has been asked before. I own ME1 and 2 but finished neither. If I play one after the other can I carry my saves/character over or how does that work?

    Yes. I dont remember how it worked but it was very straightforward and self-explanatory.

    It will ask you at the start of ME2 to scan for completed ME1 saves, all you have to do is select the storage device.

    Don't do that, the whole premise from the very inception of Mass Effect was to create a contiguous trilogy. If you care at all about the story then play them in their proper order. It's like skipping ahead watch the final few episodes of a TV show, or reading the final chapter of a book.

    I hear bad things about the PS3 version. Is a much poorer port than ME2.
    Framerate a fair bit worse than the 360 version (which has never been great for any ME).

    Yeah. I kinda expect to be disappointed with ME3, if such a thing is possible. I already was disappointed with ME2. I'm just reminded of my "wow" impression of the first one.

    I hated mass effect 1 4 years ago :mad: Although that may have just been shock at how loud that bloody xbox was.

    Good luck with that, anytime I've ordered form them the status has not changed up until weeks after I have received the game, I actually still have one "pending" that I received 6 months ago :D

    Fair enough, I am just a randomer on the net. And I'll admit in the past to not noticing much difference in some ports that were apparently inferior. Some people have more of an eye for these things. Me? Bought the PS3 version on Tuesday and haven't noticed any problems. My main gripe graphically is the faces, L.A. Noire this is not.
