Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Likewise I was also able to order the following day.

It was strange that the sales person wasn't aware of a problem with the system.

Anyway my previous post is slightly irrelevant now. Not to worry.

Thanks Paul for throwing up a post explaining that there was a problem late on Friday night. Much appreciated.
Quick question, is there an insurance option that Tesco provide? I've purchased the Samsung S2 mobile.

    Cheers

    Hi Paul
I have already highlighted this to you but the data service in Dublin (Eastpoint area) for the past 3 weeks the service has been unusable in the evenings from 7/8pm until about 1am. I know you mentioned contention but there was no issue until 3 weeks ago. Can this please be highlighted to o2, I need the connection for work and even mobile websites barely load anymore.

Sorry GIMP, been away from my desk. Yes will raise this with O2 as its likely congestion there.

Any info on when data roaming will be available for PAYG phones? I would like to be able to fully use my Galaxy Mini when in Germany.

Hi i want to port to tesco in april when finished with vf but looking at the forms they look for a new 089 number in the required fields,i want to keep my number and phone so how does this work.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,357 ✭✭✭Tesco Mobile: Paul

Yes you can keep your number. All our sims come with an 089 number and then you port your own number In over it

Or you just go on-line, order a free SIM and Tescomobile will post it out to you very quickly -

    Hi Shannon

Please follow the instructions below exactly and it should work fine.

Will respond to your PM now.

    1. Go to Settings-> Wireless&Networks->Mobile Networks and turn on Data Roaming

    2. Go to Settings-> Wireless&Networks->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names and delete all existing APN’s.

    3. Create a new Internet APN with settings
    Name: TMI Internet APN
    APN: tescomobile.liffeytelecom.com
    MCC: 272
    MNC: 11
    APN Type: default, supl
(sometimes for APN Type setting you are only allowed choose froma list. If so choose Internet or default)

    4. Create a new MMS APN with settings
    Name: TMI MMS APN
    APN: tescomobile.liffeytelecom.com
    MMSC: http://mmc1/servlets/mms
    MMS Proxy: 10.1.11.19
    MMS Port: 8080
    MCC: 272
    MNC: 11
    APN Type: mms

    5. Reboot your phone

    Hi Paul,

Id like you to pass this message onto your returns people for me please. I got a Mojo Chat from yourselfs and I was very disapointed with the coverage. So much that I cancelled my contract within the 14 days and waitind 2 weeks to get the return "bag", This bag turned out to be a padded enevlope about 6 x 10 inchs in size and the phone box to be returned is thepretty much same width as the enevlope. Also I when I cancelled the contract I wasn't made aware I would have to pay for the return cost. I don't mind doing it as it is the norm if you are posting something but I do mind not being told id have to do it.

Bascially they sent me out a padded enevlope that is wayyyyyyy too small for the return and did not make me aware of the cost i would incure sending it back due to very network coverage for 11 days straight.

Thanks for reading this and I hope you will pass it on as it puts a very dim view on tesco mobile from customers who experience the same thing.

Thanks for the feedback Gareth and apologies for what was a very poor experience.

I will review this with our team responsible for the returns/repair process and hopefully your experience will lead to some improvements in the process for others.

Are Tesco roaming rates (making calls/receiving calls) per minute or per call?
The Web section on roaming charges does not specify.
    Thanks

    Hi!

My mobile LG P500 Optimus One

I arrived in Ireland and got the tesco sim-card for free and put 10 euros of credit (topup) read about Data Bundles (Text "Date" to 174209. Cost of your bundle will be deducted from your credit balance) to send the message but internet does not work, why?

I tried to configure wap and mms did not work as well as link below:

I deleted the word "default" in Type APN and wrote default again

I enabled the option Data Roaming not know now what triggered the internet.

    it worked :)

Yes some recent upgrades mean the cap is now 2mb. Doesn't mean you are guaranteed to get 2mb as normal mobile conditions apply

    Hi,

I'm planning to port my O2 number over to Tesco Mobile in the coming weeks and I see on the Tesco Mobile website that it asks what 089 SIM you are porting to.

I have a question which I am hoping someone may able to advise me on:

    - If I buy a Tesco SIM & €10 top up (to get the SIM for free), will I lose the Tesco credit I put on the Tesco SIM when my 086 number ports over to it? (I know I'll lose any leftover O2 credit).

    Thanks in advance!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,357 ✭✭✭Tesco Mobile: Paul

No you don't lose any credit from porting, its the same account - just the number changes.

Hi paul , I was just browsing the phones on your site and just thought I'd bring it to your attention that the Nokia x7 is listed as having android os , as far as I can see its Symbian unless this is a new version ?
May be a problem if someone ordered it thinking they were getting an android ?
I'm sure you will be able to get it changed to avoid confusion :)

    Hi Paul,
Just ported over this week to PAYG to start with, ordered month-long internet bundle and working fine... but then noticed some of my credit was eaten after two days into the bundle for "GPRS Basic Service" between free internet usages with the same label. Only 21c but is there any reason for this you can think of? Seems completely random and want to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Hi Greg, sometimes a session can start before the bundle is purchased but can take a good while maybe up to day to actually close and register as a charge (and this can be after bundle purchase). Ususally we recommend you set your phone to airplane mode and back after purchasing the bundle to make sure all data from that point forward is in bundle.

    regards
    Paul
