Spend more time with my family and learn to appreciate them more; even their annoying habits.

Stop being such a spiteful bitch.

Be more normal -- try control my moods, and behaviour so as I'm not such an irrational freak.

Lose half a stone, I'll be happy then.

More exercise, proper exercise, not just running.

Drink more water and less alcohol or fizzy drinks.

Look for a new job that Ill be happy in and that doesn't make me so sad. Preferably a lot closer to home.

Enjoy being a fiancée before I am a wife. I vow not to become bridezilla

    I love everyone's lists :)

    For 2012 I'm hoping to:

    • get my degree & graduate
    • become more crafty - really would love to learn how to sew & to knit
    • give up the fags in 2012 - I'm going to start with cutting down, and once my final exams are done in May I'll hopefully be off them.
    • go on a holiday, would love to go to Italy for a couple of weeks in the summer
    • take more pictures.

    • Graduate from university
    • Get fit properly, work on getting rid of all the niggling injuries I've had
    • Manage not to get injured - would be the first time in three years
    • Hopefullly, find some sort of a job - or travel away for a few months

There is probably a few others that I will think of as time goes on

2011 was my happiest year ever :D

Heading to Canada for my masters Tuesday for the year, so my resolutions are to knuckle down and study, make new friends, have great experiences and travel.

I would also love to keep working on my fitness and run a 10k maybe.

Also want to find a new couselor and really focus on my eating habits and get into a healthy routine.

Have to work hard on my relationship since I won't see him for months at a time and really want things to work out. :)

Lots of good things to look forward to!

Hopefully this will be a great year for me - final exams, completing my case study (Development of classical ballet training in Ireland) and finally graduating in November. That will, all going well, lead to a job in my field.

I hope everything is still as amazing with the OH as it is now. He makes me so happy. I would love us to go on a holiday this summer, somewhere with a beach!

So if could college could go deadly, I'd be pretty pleased! Cannot believe how fast the 4 years have gone.

It's kind of depressing that most of the NYE texts that I received last night went along the lines of "Happy new year ... hopefully 2012 will go better for you xx" :o

It was a crappy crappy year, everything went wrong, I was sick and off work for months and failed exams as a result and nearly lost my job, I broke up with my fiance, there were family illnesses, loads of other problems too.

But the main thing is that it's all over now, things can only get better!

So what I'm looking forward to in 2012 is putting all that crap in the past. Hopefully I can stay healthy, and then everything else will (hopefully!) fall into place. :)

I had a tough 2011 too - me and the oh moved abroad, i was out of work for months which really messed with my head and my anxiety got pretty bad. :(

But I'm excited for 2012! I am going to:
    • Develop my hobbies! I need to build my life outside of work so that I never tie my identity up with being successful in work again.
    • Stop caring what others think about me and being afraid of disapproval
    • Commit to pilates for at least 20 sessions
    • Stop demanding perfection from myself and others
    • Make a concerted effort to look on the bright side
    • Have fun!

    2012 hopes and wishes...

    Be healthy and happy.
Spend time with family and loved ones.
    Get out more.
    Get fit and strong!
Learn to love myself as I am.
Think about career choices (and hopefully narrow them down significantly).

Most importantly, I hope to keep my resolutions to the best of my ability!

Was only posting on the emotional needs thread and saw this:)

I lost my job through illness last year and I'm in a really exciting place now with a full year of possibilities ahead of me, it's all right there, I just need to decide what I want to do with it!:)

I'm completely fufilled and in love with my boyfriend who is without doubt the person I'm meant to be with forever, we are closer than ever, the very best of friends and it makes me fit to burst with happiness, it's a truely special thing and we both know it:)

I have a beautiful loving mam and dad who are best friends as well as parents to me and I'm very lucky to have their friendship, support and love!

I'm just really excited about having a fresh new year ahead, hope we can all make the most of it:):) Here's to 2012!

2011 wasn't a bad year for me. Passed all four actuary exams and went on two holidays to America. Started a new job but then found out I was being made redundant so that was a pain.

Luckily I have a new job which is even better and I start in two weeks.

    This year:

    - would like to get settled in to my new job

    - looking forward to passing more exams so will be studying really hard throughout the year

    - going to at least one city/country I haven't been to before

    - go on a sun holiday and catch up on reading and sleep

    - enjoy spending weekends with my boyfriend now he won't be working weekends anymore for the first time in 3.5 years

I just wrote out my New Years Resolution list on the back of my plane ticket after spending a fairly mediocre NYE in a different city with friends ...

Save. Realize why im in NZ again. Get residency. Get to South America
    Get fit & healthy
    DO something with my voice
Take up 2 brand new activities
Take the most of the amazing country im in... go explore more!
Possibly get a 2nd job to fund SA trip. (NZ wages SUCK )
Go home once.. i know i wont be back for another 3 years or so
Make stronger bonds with my friends
Get a ski pass and go every 2nd weekend in winter
Sing Sing Sing..... make a songbook
Get a new camera and do a photography course
Be the best person i can be

2011 was shocking bad on so many fronts... have to make 2012 better and the only person that can make it better is me :)

    I want to
    1)Get a job I enjoy
2)Enjoy London, make the most of all the things I can do here that I'd never get to do back home.
3)Spend more time socialising (which I'll be able to afford if I stop spending all my money on clothes)
    4) Go on a holiday somewhere at some stage in summer!
    5) Get back to my fitness levels 2 years ago.

2012 is going to be a great year!!

I'm on a 'break from work' to follow my dreams at the moment and about to finish an amazing course in SFX Prosthetics later this month. It has been my dream to do this course and I'm very lucky that my parents and amazing boyfriend have been so supportive :D

Hoping to master the art of self promotion in 2012 and really get myself out there....the makeup industry is no place for wallflowers!!

Things that are great about 2012:
-I just learnt to sculpt and I fricking LOVE it and can't wait to fill up lots of time doing it!
-The open possibility of moving abroad...my OH has said he will move country if I need it for my career <3
-The fact that it is a leap year...a bonus day for fun!!
-Moving out of our apartment.... whether to another place in Dublin or abroad...it's time we moved in somewhere a bit bigger. Despite it only being the 2 of us (and our 3-legged kitty!) we cannot live in such a mini place any longer!

2011 was awesome but it was just the start....

I have been trying to put together a list of things I want out of 2012, unsuccessfully but this blogpost comes closest to describing me, and I suspect- most of us- it covers us, as a person, success, travel and financial security, in a nutshell!

    http://joyoftraveling.wordpress.com/2012/01/03/dreams-for-2012/

Happy New Year all and hope you achieve all that you set out for :)

-Getting more consistent with my gym days and seeing results
    -Losing a bit of weight

    :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Roesy

    - Getting back in shape and hopefully losing some weight.
    - Getting more in control of health issues.
    - Marrying my love(if my head doesn't explode with the stress of planning a wedding in 6 months).
    - Hopefully moving to a nicer place.

push the boundaries! Go new places, meet lots of new people, enjoy myself!

This! I think it probably applies to everyone. It's so easy to get stuck in a rut and miss the little opportunities for new experiences that are all around us. I made a conscious effort to look for and take up all these opportunities a few years ago, and my life changed beyond belief. Probably not a way that is noticeable to most people, but to me, I feel like a different person.

lol, that's a nice thought, never occurred to me! :)

I intend to knuckle down and do really well in my course, I would love to get a distinction but we'll see I guess.

Get back into yoga, my class ended recently and I haven't bothered to find a new one.

Plan a trip to India, finally! Although the trip itself won't take place til 2013

Volunteer at lots of festivals :)
