    Hi,

Went out this morning - 06 IS250 wont start.

Sit in, push clutch and then start button. Electrics are coming on but the engine won't start. Just getting a lot of ratt-tatt-tatt. Was working perfectly until Friday and then parked up for the weekend.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    P.

Do you have the spare key?

Previously had an issue with an IS220d that would almost start, but because the battery in the key was almost dead, it wouldn't kick in to life.

Had to lock it with that key, get the spare and unlock it with that before starting.

We were getting a "low battery" warning on the dash for the original key.

ratt tatt tatt as in clicking or the enigine turning over?
If the engine isn't turning over the obvious thing is the actual car battery.

No spare fob.... car is locking and unlocking. I have been getting the low key battery warning but changed the car over to the manual setting this morning also and still wont start...

Seems it could be the battery alright but would the electrics work in that case?

Rang dealer and they are going to try and sort it, have 6month warranty. Timing is a bitch as really need the car today :(

More like clicking to be honest unless its a very odd engine sound....!

Didn't know there was a manual setting (we were just trying to get the car out of the garage on to a transporter).

All lights were coming up on the dash and it was trying to start, just getting a clicking sound rather than the engine coming to life, so it does sound very similar to your issue.

New battery may just sort the issue for ya.

You can swap it over if the battery in the fob dies so that the car will start if you hold the fob up to the start button.

Garage on way out to sort it now. Hoping its nothing more than a jump.
