500 internal error for a bit, reported on twitter too.

Skinny, powerful laptop thats going to cost a fortune and seems to think a touch pad is useable for gaming. Yeah, not going to sell that well.

It's a pretty sweet laptop, but really it's just a laptop. If that's the most revolutionary thing PC gaming can come up with then maybe it actually is time to get worried.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,371 ✭✭✭✭Zillah

    It's a gaming laptop.

    REVOLUTION!

Haha, their website is bugged. I can still hear the first video running despite going back and playing a different one. Good job fellas. CEO has an awesome accent though. Sounds like if a Samurai warrior decided to design computer gaming hardware instead.

See $2,700 quoted on another forum, is there a price on the site?

    EDIT: http://press.razerzone.com/press/detail/press-releases/razer-unveils-the-worlds-first-true-gaming-laptop

    $2800...

    lol what a joke

Specs are impressive though, I'd consider one if I was disgustingly wealthy.

I am not, unfortunately, disgustingly wealthy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,929 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

    right:

    price tag idiotic.

that shortcut screen for buttons is in idiotic location, it makes it useless.

    spec is okay, nothing special.

i bet you can biuld yourself similar laptop with dell, for waaaaay cheaper too.

i think 95% of pc gamers are embarrassed

It looks very nice. If I was in the market for a mega laptop and had cash to burn I would certainly consider this. But I'm not in the market for a mega laptop and monetary situation is constrained so I will not consider buying this.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,144 ✭✭✭CORaven

It would be cheaper to build a pc and buy a car to move it around in than to buy this and take it on the bus.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,815 ✭✭✭Burgo

It makes the alienware laptops look cheap by comparison.

What a load of nonsense. Am very disappoint.

But here's something that PC gamers don't want to hear (and I say this as an owner of a ****-hot gaming tower of my own): PC gaming hardware is approaching a dead end.

    you can stop reading there....

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

Actually, the guy's talking a lot of sense in that Kotaku article, I'm not sure I agree with all of it, but I think he's definitely on to something. The bigger picture thinking about PC gaming as a Platform and the need to see both innovation and standardisation is all perfectly legitimate.

I'm going to have a bit of a think about that. It could be that we see the emergence of a more console styled thing with it's roots in the PC gaming community.
