Does anybody have any information on Media Arts or Journalism in DIT? There's not much information on it :/

    It would be much appreciated!

I would appreciate it if anyone could give me info. on Mathematics and Philosophy or just Mathematics as a single honourse degree in Trinity. Any information on these two courses anywhere else in Ireland would be as useful.

I would also like to know what career opportunities are like after graduation. Thanks!

I was just wondering if you can do this with Psychology in NUIM, and do you have to be studying a language to do this?

Just I was hoping to do an Arts degree with Psychology, Computers and maybe French, I was wondering if I would still be able to do the BA. Int with Erasmus year if I dropped French?

Any other details about how the Erasmus works for majoring in Psychology would be appreciated?.

    :)

    RCSI Medicine 1st year.

I had been in UCD last year but dropped out and am now here in RCSI, here is quite a bit better in terms of education that UCD. Notes are brilliant and the lectures explain everything so much better, we also have so many practical classes (the only way to learn this course) that in fact I'm now burnt of them!! The college is small, and the craic mightnt be up there with the bigger colleges but in terms of education this place is fantastic. And thats what you are there for at the end of the day! Plus there is nothing stopping you from just hanging around with people from the other places and doing your socialising there, I spend most my nights out with UCD people.

Plus the staff are fantastic and very understanding, if you ever have a problem you will always get an ear, far quicker than you would in the bigger places. RCSI is more personal.

I would recommend it to anyone, pm if you have any questions or anything. :)

    Hi there,
im looking to do medicine, and tcd, ucd, rcsi, nuig, ucc, in that order.

my main concern is that ive taken up chemistry for the first time this year (im repeating) and while i like it and find it interesting, i just isn't coming naturally to me like biology. i dont do physics either but am good at maths so not toooo worried....

will this be a disadvantage to me (the chem thing)? like im afraid that i'll enter the course (if im lucky enough to get it) and find that the chemistry element is far too hard..... I should be fine for biology cos it's my passion, i love the thoery, dont mind the lab but the anatomy side fascinates me, i cant wait for anatomy. Any opinions?

Also, i know this probably is a stupid question, but do you've to study yer arse off like you do for the L.C? one doctor told me he slept through college till his last year and was grand, the other said he studied every day.....
like i dont mind studying, and will cos im NOT ever repeating a year of education again, but i'd like my social life back!!!

Also is first year really difficult? they say most med students fail their first year.... Is it cos they're dossing or cos it's real hard?

And thanks for putting up info on the course, it's really helpful!
    :)

Hope you left veterinary on your CAO, it's a great course! Loved Chem in school and didn't do biology, but TBH you don't need the chemistry hardly at all, biology is the more important subject I'd say. Was actually kind of dissapointed that there wasn't more chemistry on the course, but I love doing biology stuff anyways! But I'd say if you like biology you'll be fine. Get plenty of practical experience in as many areas as you can, i.e., small animals, large animals and horses, even if they're not your thing, you still have to learn about them! It's a great course and there's a great social side to it as well. Good luck with the results, and even if you've changed your mind and you don't get it, don't be afraid to reapply (I transferred from another course myself, had to pay fees but it was worth it!) or repeat, cos loads of people repeat (some even repeat twice) to get in. Best of luck!

I'm thinking of veterinary too, but I'm doing physics and chemistry for the LC. Do you think it would be hard without LC biology? I had no problem with it for the JC but obviously haven't done it since. Would I be behind everyone?
Also do you mind me asking what course course you moved from to get into Vet? 560 is a lot of points, I might end up going off to begium or something!

Hey:) firstly, to whoever started this thread! I take my *metaphorical hat off to you! it's been really helpful! can anybody tell me anything about psychology in UCD? Is it basically arts or is it straight psychology? I've been really put off about UCD of late as I have heard so many people say that it's impossible to make friends in first year, and as i don't know anyone there...well ya know! I don't really like the idea of being friendless! i know that's the last thing that should be on my mind, but I'm repeating and i seriously want to like the college that i'm going to!

my second choice is primary teaching, but I don't know whether to put Pat's or Marino first?

    ahhh confusion!

    P.M's welcome!
