Looking to get a puppy, any recommendations of where to start looking? Don't want to go the route of PAWS. Looking for a reliable breeder.

There is a Cavalier rescue based in Dublin, they don't have pups but would have young adults.

Also, if you're looking to buy rather than rescue, contact the irish kennel club and they will give you the number of a reputable breeder in your area.

(a better route than some of the buyandsell/donedeal type advertising sites, as you can sometimes get ripped off on these!)

+1. Known for heart problems in particular! But lovely little dogs - just pick carefully

Thanks for the replies. Am heading to Wexford on Sunday to see what kind of doggies they have, and hopefully to bring one home in around 12 weeks.

Please thread carefully, the potential health problems are endless we clocked up over 5000 euro in vet bills last year. It's a wonderful breed and I wouldn't trade my two in for the world but it's a mine field out there.
