    400k USD exactly. Fair enough.
How much does the Irish president earn a year for the statutory position?

When i have a question like that, i turn to a search engine and it tells me the answer

Can you back up that the president of the USA receives exactly a salary of US$400,000?

I would hope at a quarter of that.. If she's lucky.
But it's probably something stupidly high.

I know Willie O'Dea earned more than Cheney. And that Conor Lenihan is worth more than the entire US Senate

    Not even surprising, sadly

Guys I appreciate the comments about the Google search
But as far as I know this is a discussion forum and if I want to bring a legit discussion and have a chat with some peps about a specific subject...you see my point.

Anyway back on topic I believe the Irish president is paid more than 300k euro.
Which strikes me a bit knowing Ireland is such as little country to the US.
I recently read somewhere that the Irish president was getting the highest pay in the world for a legit president. I don't know...Anyone?

    Cheers.

On the Derek Mooney show today it said he earned over $2 million last year from his books alone, so the $400,000 is probably pocket money for the wife and kids, and Bo :)

MC Obama earned 3,000,000 last year before taxes.

Yes but this is going off-topic now :D

The 400k are for his statuary position as a president.
    Vice president is getting 220k

The statistic I heard was that he's paid more per person he represents than the entire US senate. He doesn't actually earn more than them

no, its a well known fact Irelands taoiseach earns more than the US president!
complete disgrace if you ask me:the USA is the most well known country on the planet, theyre fighting wars on two fronts, the biggest economy to manage in the world, and countless other things,

whereas the taoiseachs job involves taking sh1t from Enda K for a few days a week:p

Is that not a case for the Taoiseach getting a pay rise?

ive got a couple of questions if someone could answer it......

The government gave themselves a pay rise last year. What was there pay before they gave themselves a pay rise and what was it after?

Then......the public sector pay cut means that they also get a pay cut.....so what is their pay now? Does it just work out as retracting their payrise?

    Here's an updated chart

Brave Cowen took a forced 10% paycut recently.

He at €257k is still the highest paid EU leader by a mile.
