    I've driven most makes.
Can't disagree with the daewoo matiz, any Chrysler, Volvo 540 or any old volvo for that matter, 3.0 Izuzu Troopers one of the worst things ever built,
All old 3 series beamers, Citroen saxo/ Peugeot 106 all are dislikable cars to drive for me, I could go on but I won't.

    All old 3 series beamers
You must have driven clapped-out ones, they were all nice to drive. Even the E21 was nice when it wasn't trying to kill you.

A Fiat Uno, that had a hole in the passenger floor and you had to always have a passenger with you to hold the p/s door closed as it was hanging off -fun times:D

Opel/Vauxhall Vectra - absolute rubbish on wheels.

Nissan Bluebird - Like steering a barge.

Ford Orion - everything about it was disasterous.

Chevrolet HHR. Had a rental for 10 days and was approached by a lady in a carpark asking me 'Excuse me Sir, do you really like this car?'

    That about sums it up.

'99 Rover 400 (1.6) a couple of years ago. Good engine, but driving dynamics were awful (based on an old Honda?). But the worst was a brand spanking new Toyota Corolla back in '02. The blandest car I have ever driven. And I have driven many cars (plenty of them cheap and /or bland) since the mid 80s

Edit: forgot I had a Chrysler Sebring 2.7 V6 convertible during a work trip to Florida a good few years ago. Just as well we rarely discuss American cars here. Sh1te would be a compliment for that yoke.

    04 Hyundai Getz
98 VW Polo, thats some heavy steering
99 Skoda felicia, piece of poorly made uncomfortable rickety awfullness.

TBH, I'm not a car enthusiast in the slightest, but the above experiences made me vow to stay clear of these models.

Agreed, don't know the CC around 1.0 -1.1, whatever is in it. Horrible

Daewoo Matiz would get my vote as well, too bad is that I own one:)

Interesting car to drive fast(?) in the back roads, keeps you awake:)

I also "like" the fact that in high winds it goes from left to right but never straight.

Also 95 Nissan Micra was actually quite afwul, not much better that Matiz.

Toyota Liteace 85 was interesting in the bad way, also 88 Ford Escort Van.

Also VW Polo 98, I just find the car really old fashion.

Matiz does seem to get a lot of votes and for good reason as well.

    Hyundai Atoz:o

Biggest heap of crap. Also had a Kia Rio while my own was in for a service...handled ok but EVERYTHING else was woeful. I particularly liked the was the brakes faded to nothing after just one slow down to a roundabout from c.100km/h:rolleyes:

Primera 1.6 (current shape) I had as a rental while my car was in for body work.

Gutless engine and the same seating position as a bus.

Had to Google it as never heard of it.

Still better looking than a Multipla and a big engine to boot. 2.2 at 143bhp & Won Best SUV 2006 & 2007

1991 Nissan Micra. It was in what would probably have been considered reasonable condition, but it was still a hateful machine. Fortunately only had to endure it for 2 days while my own car was in the garage.

Lived in Boston for a bit with some friends and bought a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina for $1500. It was like driving a boat on top of a bouncing castle. Hilarious automatic gearbox and air conditioning that used to blow hot air in your face one second then cold air. The car was owned by a nun before me and was finished inside in red carpet (including the roof lining). Bashed and dented all over, and one day coming off the highway the front left suspension arm snapped and the car went sliding across a few lanes. Another day on the highway at 80mph and the brakes failed, and about 10 times the alternator failed to work so I had to jumpstart it in the pouring rain after a full day in work. ahhh memories!

    wifes car - 1998 1.6 mitsubishi charisma....horrible

suspension is woeful, feels like driving a boat around the place
Gearbox is awful, not sure if thats just her car though

My uncle's Opel Vectra while my car was in the garage, god it was sooooo slow. It was his pride and joy as well, he'd coveted it for ages before he bought it, I have no idea why.

Would have to be the Fiat my Dad got for my mom back in the early 80's. It cost less than a loaf of bread and at the back, you could watch calmly as the road rushed by through the 14" hole in the floor.

Was a total nightmare to drive :D

Can't find an exact match but it was similar to this.

Chrysler PT Cruiser or Grand Voyager - I can't think of a nice thing to say about either of them...

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,375 ✭✭✭kmick

Chrysler Neon - if I remember rightly it was 1.6 or 1.8 but drove like a 1.0. Steering reminded me of the rope steering I had on my downhill go cart I built with my dad when i was 8. Brakes were woolly and the suspension made me gaseous. Gearbox was sticky. Thank god I only had it 24 hours as a lend whicle mine was in garage. Dire.

    Nissan Almera saloon 99 (boring)

VW Caddy SDI model (so slow)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,978 ✭✭✭✭mike65

I've driven mainly crap, but the car that was least enjoyable was a Suzuki Swift saloon I had on hire for 3 weeks, the engine was gutless and drank fuel, the ride as nasty and the steering way too light.

My mothers peugeot 307, the most boring car in the world...

It has no take off in it what so ever..

The fear of being rear ended, or crashed into on a roundabout is about as exciting as that car gets!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,053 ✭✭✭jimbling

Fiat Punto. Death trap. Can't turn a corner to save its life, no idea how more people don't get killed in those things.....

I was going to say an Almera that I had as a loaner for a few days, but it wasn't bad as such - just completely forgettable.

Unpleasant ones to drive were a 93 fiesta and late-90's polo, both without power steering. But the worst is probably a Daihatsu Terios. Just awful in every regard.
