Go on, go on, go on, go on. GO ON!
ESA has today opened applications for talented individuals wishing to become an astronaut in the European Astronaut Corps. There has not been a selection campaign since 1992, so this is a rare opportunity to be at the forefront of ESA’s human spaceflight programmes including future missions to the ISS, the Moon and beyond.

Candidates from all 17 Member States (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) are welcome to apply.

Thanks for the tip off. I fancy being on the first manned trip to Mars, as I've heard there are some great bars on Mars.:)

I'd love to apply to be an astronaut. But that would involve effort. :(
    So I have a dilemma...

Feck that. I can't get a doctorate in Engineering or 1000 hours flight training in a month! Well, I could get most of the flight hours if I flew continuously.

Watched a great documentary on the US space shuttle recently, and there's no way in hell I would strap myself to the biggest firework in the world and be shot into space! :)

Well, it would be worth it, but my fitness level and scientific knowledge would rule me out. :o
