Frequency change?

    Does anybody out there know why Sky are always changing the frequency and pid numbers, of most of the channels transmitting?
    Is it to mess up non sky receivers.? :mad:

    I would imagine so, as if you are receiving them *properly*, it is only possible through a sky digibox in which case, the EPG adjusts the frequencies accordingly. Which poses the question - how do you know they change them frequently? :p

    Yes, the constant changing is a tad annoying indeed. There really is no need for it, except to annoy people with FTA receivers.

    I never knew they did this. How often do the frequencies change? Is this even on non-FTA channels like Sky One, etc... ?

    They changed frequency of Hallmark, Eurosport last friday, plus others.
    But Why?

    I seem to remember once before they had to do some work on a transponder, and on that transponder at the time was Channel 5 and Sky Sports 2 (there was live sport on) and they duplicated the output on another transponder, so that service would not be affected.

    At least with satellite and spare capacity, they can do this, unlike terrestrial.
