I enjoyed Jean Claude Van Johnson for what it was, though it could've played up the gimmick a bit more

    Bad Boys

‘Bad Boys’-Inspired Series Starring Gabrielle Union Scores NBC Pilot Order
The untitled drama series based on Gabrielle Union’s “Bad Boys” character has been ordered to pilot at NBC.

Union will star as Syd Burnett, her character from “Bad Boys 2.” In the show, she has left the DEA and now has a fresh start in her new job as an LAPD detective. She’s partnered with Nancy McKenna, a working mom who can’t help but look at Syd’s freedom with some grass-is-greener envy. These two have totally different lifestyles and approaches, but they both are at the top of their fields. Union will also executive produce in addition to starring.

The project had received a pilot production commitment at the network in October.

It will be written and executive produced by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, who previously worked together on NBC’s “The Blacklist.” Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the “Bad Boys” films, will executive produce along with Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Jeff Gaspin, Jeff Morrone, Doug Belgrad. Sony Pictures Television Studios will produce in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television, Primary Wave Entertainment, and 2.0 Entertainment.

Union and LeBron James are also set as executive producers on a project in development at ABC called “White Dave,” which is based on the life of series creator David E. Talbert.

I'd be surprised if AoS, B99 and/or Great News get cancelled. Particularly AoS, they've been calling it one for the cancellation bear for years - it has its best ratings for a long time, particularly when compared to Inhumans (which was initially planned to replace AoS)

Was not Elementary fifth and final season as I recall? Also one likely (Lucifer) and two bubbles (Black list, Lethal Weapon) makes me feel good for renewals for a change; I tend to end up loving the 1/2 seasons once that Americans hate for some reason :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,342 ✭✭✭✭rossie1977

Quite alot of guesswork in that list. LA to Vegas just started and they ordered couple of new episodes. Can't see ABC cancelling Agents of Shield especially with the biggest movie in history dropping this year and it having a tie in.

Elementary went from a 13 episode season to a 21 episode season so I hope that's a good sign.

Hopefully The Exorcist does not get cancelled, it was lucky to get a second season, but it was far superior then the first season.

Any word on Traveler, is it getting a 3rd season?

    I hope Blacklist isn't cancelled.

Not yet but we didn't hear last year until early February. I imagine Netflix wants to see how well it does before committing - it's why I made a point of waiting until it dropped on Netflix to watch it.
One of the bigger issues will be Eric McCormack's scheduling and probably pay - I imagine he can afford to ask for more since 'Will and Grace' came back. Hopefully they can work something out there although I do believe the show could continue without him.

I think McCormack is an Exec on Travelers though and was integral in getting it greenlit in the first place - I reckon it's a bit of a passion project for him, so hopefully that's a good sign that he won't be causing problems.

Still making my way through Season 2 myself, slowly but surely, and hope that it does get renewed for Season 3.

Haven't gotten around to it myself but the first season wasn't bad, but is the 2nd sort of self contained like the 1st season?

Nothing worse than sitting through a season or two only to find a show has been cancelled on a cliff hanger.

Now, I tend to try and not watch new seasons unless they're a) almost guaranteed renewal or b) wait until they're finished and find out if they end OK as a standalone or hanging off a cliff.

Self contained with a resolution, but it does tease a third season in the last scene, if it did not get it, it would not really ruin anything.
