Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thread for the playoffs. Thankfully for me and other Mets fans, the 2017 regular season has come to an end but I'm really looking forward to the playoffs. Some great match ups ahead and God only knows who's going to come out on top.

I enjoyed this article on the rosters of each of the playoff teams.

From a Mets perspective thank God that season is done & dusted.

Can't wait for this Post Season. Some of these games have the potential to be epic.

I'm firmly pinning my colours to the Indians mast.

That's pretty much how I see it going down as well. Except going for the Indians in 5. Just to be different:)

Worst thing about the Dodgers getting home field advantage, is the lateness of all of the games. Can't see myself staying up for many games. Will try on Friday night for Game 1 though

The very late games I watch back the next day. The good thing about being in Ireland is that it's easy enough to avoid seeing the result.

You guys have a great bullpen and more than enough fire power to get runs of Twins pitching. Still a long way to go. What a start to the playoffs!

Have a feeling about Byron Buxton tonight. Think he'll pull off a crazy catch or hit a huge dinger

Love the emotion and celebration of the players in the playoffs. Great to players showing serious passion for a change.

Serious performance from the Yankee Bullpen tonight

    Yankees win 8-4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,589 ✭✭✭circular flexing

I would say there's a risk of the Indians being 2-0 up before the Yankees know what's happened to them.

Sevarino can come back earlier now can’t he after only 30 pitches? Or would Yankee fans want him back?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,469 ✭✭✭ShyMets

Fair play to the Twins. Went from a 100 loss season last year to making the playoffs.

The Yankees v Indians looks like it could be a tasty series.

Its a No for me, he had absolutely nothing last night.
Not 1 of his pitches gave off any confidence
    He looked so nervous

    The atmosphere is insane!!!!

What about that crowd pop when judge hit that fly ball down on top of Buxton. If that had of gone deep I think the foundations would have shook.

Glad the first couple of Red Sox games are on at a reasonable hour, 9pm tomorrow and 7pm Friday.

Going to be a tough series

Always like that there are a few games on at a reasonable hour for us in the early stages of the playoff.

Has anyone paid for mlb.tv for the Playoffs? Must set it up. Wont get to watch tonight, but should be good for a game most evenings after that.

Anyway, on to tonight, I'm not sure who I want to win.
Obviously the D-Backs should be tougher than the Rockies, but I never feel good when the Dodgers have to play in Denver. Always worried about the altitude, and the impact on pitchers. Could see the bullpen getting worn out playing a couple of games up there. At least in Arizona, the play is normal.

It’s the way things are going. As the writer said, the first inning and having to go to the bullpen so early didn’t help!

And a bullpen that is taking the Royals template to the next level. They have like 5 guys with closer stuff they can run out...

Diamondbacks it is. Surprised to see Rodney still pitching (I don’t pay much attention to NL)

Yankees announced earlier Pitchers for games 1+2

    Gray (Game 1)
    Sabathia (Game 2)

Lots of runs in the WC round this year. Last year’s NL was 1-0.

Don't fancy the Yankees tonight at all. After the high of the play-in game, not sure if they can raise their game again. And then they face Kluber in game 2. Think it could be a short one for the Yanks.

I’m staying out of the prediction game as all the series are just too hard to call. I don’t really fancy Boston* but I think any of the other teams could go on and win it.

    * watch now as Boston go on to win!

Astros go back to back off Sale in the bottom of the first!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,687 ✭✭✭✭jack presley

Another day, another game with first inning runs. Back to back homers off Sale and the Astros are up 2-0. And the Red Sox lost Nunez injured in the top of the inning too.

Just caught end of Red Sox second innings. What's gone wrong with Sale?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,476 ✭✭✭Comic Book Guy

That inning ends whatever feint hopes I had of a Red Sox comeback.

Altuve must be the red hot favourite for MVP now.

Staying up for as long as i'll last for the Yankee game as i won't get to see Game 2 tomorrow night

Really impressed with the Astros.. they won't fear anyone
