Irish Times article says €100 million put into Prize Bonds in 1st three months of this year - no wonder mine aren't coming out very often! But it says the return (after DIRT) on €15000 deposit is <€47 so even one win of €50 is good news!

Cash them all in and blow it all on tomorrows lotto, shure you might win.

    Nothing since the €50 on 10th March. (In 2013 I won €1,200; 2014 I won €1,200; 2015 I won €600; 2016 I won €750; 1st four months 2017 €200 ... all on c. €70K). I know that comparisons are odious but probably suit my nature!

Has anyone copped that this thread has added a lot more dosh to the Prize Bonds? That's what I believe anyway. :D

The people who bought €670 million in Prize Bonds last year would never have done so if they had read this thread.

Mostly it is sad faces and "nothing for me this week" or "I never won anything since 1968". Along with the occasional conspiracy theorist who are convinced that the whole thing is a big fix.

    http://www.irishtimes.com/business/personal-finance/prize-bonds-the-answer-to-low-interest-rates-1.3060611

In 2016, some € 670 million in saver’s money flowed into prize bonds, up by 17 per cent on the year prior, and the growth trend has continued, with about €100 million flowing into the product in the first three months of the year. It means that since 2011, more than € 1.5 billion has flooded into prize bonds.

You would think with all the money flowing into it that they would put the prizes back up to the 75

I've always enjoyed following this thread (I don't have a tv) and posted before that I had set up a paltry €50 monthly dd (June 2016) adding to a few random bonds.
My total in bonds is a pathetic €575.
LO AND BEHOLD, what did I find in the post this morning only a €50 cheque! It was for an AFT bond I got in December. So everyone with big impressive amounts, hang in there! I feel delighted, like I "beat the odds" in some way :) Onwards and upwards!!

It's a nice reassuring feeling that your bonds (and every prize bond) is in with an equal chance of winning. It only takes 1 single bond to win a million.

It's all relative to how many sad faces you use, so you'll not be winning for some time to come I'm afraid.

Nothing for us today. We will have our €100k batch 1 year next week and have won €750 on them. We've also won €150 on the €20k batch that we bought in August and €50 on an old bond from a very small batch. That's €950 since mid May last year - €50 win next week would make it an even €1000. Here's hoping :)

I know it's possible that it will stay at 0 for the year, but it's probably the same possibility of winning the mill.

Same here, nothing today, I'd love to read a posting from somebody from somewhere winning a big prize, with the big holding in this thread combined, all I read is €50 euro winnings, and that's not every week, very poor results of late, I'II add another sad face :( but we can't lose hope.
I live in hope, I dream big, there's is always next Friday.

Would I be correct in assuming that sticking 50k into prize bonds would more than likely earn me more than state saving schemes or banks? I know you can potentially win nothing.
