What Gives You The Creeps?

We all seem to carry some weird thoughts through from childhood into our adult lives... The question is what still gives you the creeps as an adult, the one thing you know in your rational mind shouldn't, but still does?

Mine is wardrobe doors being open in a bedroom... We have a large inbuilt wardrobe and if even one of the doors / drawers is slightly ajar, I have to get out of bed to shut it.. If not, I'll not sleep as I feel someone or something is watching me from the dark.

Probably mentioned but old countryside houses. My Grandad's for example. Old furniture, the dark and deafening experience of isolation away from people or roads. Old massive wardrobes at the end of the bed. Nooooooo.

I cannot look out a window when it's dark outside.

It's such a fear that I avoid looking outside when drawing the curtains.
I've has a few nightmares where I've been standing at a window at night and see a ghost/murderer. So I'd say that has a lot to do with it.

Clueless people with chainsaws. The sort that ring up and ask me is it 2 stroke or 4 stroke oil that they mix with the petrol for a chainsaw. If you're asking me that sort of thing you shouldn't be left near a chainsaw. Hang on while i alert the emergency services!

When I'm walking along a footpath and there's a bend in the road, and a bus or large truck coming in the opposite direction. I always hate the point when it's coming directly towards you...like if the steering failed it would plough into you and you'd be dead in a heartbeat.

I have this thought about once a day.

That reminds me, I was brushing my teeth one night and a silhouette of a massive cat, Tom and Jerry shadow style, moved past the window. It was the size of a panther, lol! He was just a tiny fella walking along a wall in front of a street light. I think if my cat ever happens to witness that he'll have a heart attack.

I'm up in my mams house now. A few years ago she bought this kind of statue thing for the garden.

It's a little boy and girl. They are about the size of a 3 year old so it's fairly big and they are sitting on a bench. They are made of black stone and have weirdly light blue painted eyes. Really creepy. Don't know what possessed her to buy it because it's not something she would normally pick.

When walking down the smaller streets, a lorry or truck will come flying past and I always feel it just needs one gust of wind to make it tip on top of me.
Irrational, but I get it a few times a week.

Flying also gives me the creeps, I get so worked up and stressed on the out going flight. Then I realise "nah its grand its pretty safe" then be far less worried on the way back. Rinse repeat.

There was a youtube video of some bored Russian kids arsing about on a construction building where one of them walks out on an exposed steel beam and proceeds to do a handstand, obviously with no safety harness. The building was about 20 stories high.

It creeps me out just thinking about it.

I suffer from sleep paralysis and no matter how many times it's happened it still scares the bejaysus out of me. Always feels like there's someone there holding you down.. Creepy as f**k.

I have no problem with spiders but the thought of a spider crawling on me when I am asleep at night gives me the cold sweat fears.

Especially if there is a chance they will crawl in to my ear and set up home in there.

I was in bed one night, laying on my side, just before sleeping. Next thing I feel this really sharp pain in my ear, like my ear drum was being pinched and I can feel something moving around. I jumped up, freaking out. Couldn't get it out, but could feel it moving in my head. My housemates (all boys) were absolutely fascinated. Shining lights into my ear to see if they could see it. Ended up pouring olive oil in there to drown the spider, and went to the dr next day to get it taken out. Weirdest sensation ever.

No Fcking way! I am off to buy some earplugs now....cant be taking the chance that that might happen.
