You'll see BJPenn.com and Joe.ie sensationalizing it too but AFAIK if they get cleared they can still fight. Both DC and Jones on set of GMA, that's your main. How does everyone think it'll do PPV buy wise with McGregor off the card? Jones/DC I did 820k with ALOT of hype behind it. A lot of people will buy UFC 200 because it's UFC 200 but I think it'll be lucky to break a million buys. The ratings from the weekends prelims (usually a good indication of overall buys) were very low.

Or would they call someone else in as McGregor v Aldo/Edgar will headline at a PPV at some stage down the line so might be a waste of a good main fight?

I don't know who Dana plans on Conor fighting at 201 or 202 though as it could be the end of the year by the time the winner of Frankie or Jose is ready. It would be excellent if they just scrapped that interim fight, picked one and had Conor fight them in July at 145 for the belt.

XsApollo wrote: » Well he might not get his fight at 170 after all the crap that went on. Plus Dana said his next fight is the winner of Aldo - Frankie. Anyway we will see. It would be ironic if Edgar pulled out and Connor couldn't step in because he wasn't ready :-D
Lukker- wrote: » He said he's a possibility for 201, so it's not gonna be Aldo or Edgar. It's going to be Diaz 100%, the first fight did 1.5m PPV buys without any promotion. The UFC are licking their lips at the thought of it and are probably delighted he asked for a rematch. I would love if the fight wasn't at 170 but my guess is Dana will keep it there to keep him sweet after pulling him from 200. He's still the poster boy and they need him as much as he needs them. Why would he step in? I certainly wouldn't be doing them any favours if I was him.

Very little chance of Aldo or Edgar being ready for those cards as they will likely be August/September. This suggests that Conor's next fight will indeed be Diaz. But either way Dana is lying again.
