Bike tracking system for €29, works in Ireland. Don't know how it works without a sim of some sort. Great idea if it doesn't require a subscription:

Most of those things require a sim, I have them in my cars but sims can be registered for €30 a year. I haven't opened that link yet, in work here, so may be wrong on that one

The ones I have work really really well though

yes. You will need to go to the depo to collect. I used parcel motel.

I done it as well. I miscalculated the price as well so it was going to be far more than I expected. This said I negotiated it down over the phone, citing my poverty, to a far more reasonable price.

Pointless without a large number of users in a locality.

That reminds me of cycling to work back in the 1980's. I only had a few miles to do and used to do it in 'ordinary' clothes but one of my colleagues had all the fancy gear which was unusual back then (especially on a commute). People would be in awe of the distance he claimed to be travelling each day until we eventually discovered he was driving his estate car most of the way and parking it up a couple of miles from work and hopping on the bike for the remainder of the journey.

The term "push bicycle" differentiates one's superior modern two-wheeled laufmaschine from the rather old-fashioned four-wheeled celerifere.

It's not so much push-bicycle as push-bicyle.

Got myself a new bike mechanic, it's a chap I've known for many many years through a past life but for handiness I'd been using the LBS where I bought the bike who subsequently annoyed the piss out of me with his antics... Anyway, turns out my new headset (8 weeks on the bike) had little to ne grease on it, steerer was not on correctly. New BB (2 weeks on the bike) while fitted ok the cranks were loose. Front wheel that had just been straightened was square also dished. The rear mech was loose, which he had also removed as the hanger needed to be replaced. Essentially nearly every job I paid him to do was done wrong/badly. My rear axel is destroyed with worn cones due to them being left loose.
What makes it worse was I liked the chap and had routinely dropped in for a cuppa on a Saturday morning. Now I just want to beat him to death with a torque wrench, which is ironic because it seems he clearly doesn't know how to use one.
On the plus side the new mechanic knows me well and knows te standards I expect plus he's a proper enthusiast himself so all is well again.
Sorry for the rant but I'm super annoyed!
