That's all fine, but whether they like the McGregor/Diaz rematch or no, surely they have to see that no McGregor at 200 will eat into their profits at their showcase event. I wouldn't rule anything out because there's a real absence of information (we haven't really heard from Conor at all) but my inclination is that they've reached a genuine impasse, one that will inevitably be resolved because of the amount of money at play, but it's a matter of when really. Does Conor take 3 years out and come back the best in the Featherweight Division? I don't think so, that's not even beginning to look at his ambitions to conquer the heavier divisions. If McGregor's ambitions still lie in MMA then he's just as much in need to get this sorted than the UFC are.

Nate was back to being skinny fat after the Johnson fight, Conor had all the advantages just like the Mendes fight.
Nates just a bad match up for him, better cardio, better chin, better grappling and more heart.

Also, IMO 200 is just another PPV event, it has never felt as big as 100. Im sure the UFC would bypass 200 and get Conor working for the team going forward. The PPV buys will be there regardless of the number

But sure look, they haven't even announced the amended card yet, you could have Jones, GSP and Rousey (obviously not very likely) all in action and the card is saved. This is absolutely one of those situations that will be better judged in hindsight. Right now our opinions are being very much shaped by our pre-conceived ideas because we know very little about what led to this.

Cathy.C wrote: » Just cause Conor asked how can a skinny guy be so fat, doesn't mean Nate Diaz ever lets himself get in that condition. Not a chance. Didn't look such a bad match up for him in the first when Conor flipped Nate over easily enough and stuck him on his neck. Nor did Nate look so hot when Conor was goading him early in the second round, taking shots from him he could easily have avoided. Conor got cocky is all and thought he had the fight won. Nate is an excellent fighter though and he didn't get away with it. You live you learn. Nate has lost eight UFC fights, not sure why the big hoo haa about Conor losing one, especially considering it was his first time fighting at welterweight.

He has to totally reinvent himself. Maybe his pr company are still training him in what he should say in the next press conference. Part of the promotion involved an appearance in Stockton, CA, Diaz home town. That would have been a hard gig to fulfil for Conor. He might be looking to do this promotion from skype now, I wouldnt be surprised if he comes out and says that he was in the middle of some serious training and couldnt leave it for that reason.

Doesn't matter how much you draw for the company, no one is safe from him if they piss him off (throwing Jon Jones in with Belfort knowing he was juiced to the gills, for example). This'll be sorted out, no doubt about it, but it's bad form on Dana's part if all of that is factual.
