Nintendo (of America) anyway seem to have moved towards a branding colour of red, similar to the NES days. I wonder if the NX branding will be similar, or at least the game boxes etc. Neogaf have already been on the case:

Well, I knew this day was coming.... the day when a new Ninty console would launch but I am no longer the sole user of said console so I have to vote on it with the adorable plebs. I'd hoped to get a few more years though

I only hope I've done enough that the girls have no idea what an XBox is when the time comes.... Maybe I'll get them to have another "I'm Daisy, you're Peach!" "No! I'm Peach, you're baby Rosalina!" punch up at the weekend, make sure they're fully in the fold.

I hope they don't go with Red. If I add a few Red game boxes to the Wii and WiiU stuff under the telly my front room will start o look like a very tempting ISIS target.

Just put Monster hunter "super ultra Derby mama slayer" on NX with proper online and voice chat and I am buying it on launch.
I already bought 2 3ds and wii u just because of this franchise.

I was thinking yesterday for the actual game cases, since Ninty are all about using less plastic an stuff, if they would use the same size cases as xbone and ps3/4 game boxes. Think they should.

And maybe go with a dark colour for the boxes. It's a silly thing but I think the light blue boxes are kinda off putting for the WiiU, donno why, just a mental block, see it as a very, 'Tomy 4+' colour or something. What I do like about the WiiU game boxes is that they kinda harken back to the gamecube logo, just different colour.

I don't mind what case colour they are, just keep them all the same. It upsets me an inordinate amount seeing the yellow Mario Maker box amongst all the other blue ones. I suppose the select boxes will be red so that'll increase the torment!

Lol, yes that yellow SMM box drives me crazy too. Glad I don't have the green(?) Luigi box.

I wonder, if anyone has made an alternate blue SMM cover yet. If someone as, I may just print one out and swap out the boxes. Store the yellow one away.

These are big things to be worrying about, EH.

Edit: but in fairness, I'm very picky about cases and box art. At the moment I'm swapping out all my DS cases to the American, slimmer boxes. They just seem more neat to me, and the artwork fits just the same. Touch of OCD I think.

The PS3 boxes are the worst for us OCD victims. Up to a certain point, they had that red logo on the spine and then it got removed down the line. They look terrible on the shelf when mixed together. Mine are in alphabetical order at the moment. I was half thinking of separating the two box types and keeping each type in alphabetical order! What is my life?

I love the WiiU boxes, even Luigi's. It's like he finally rebelled: made his brother's platformer twice as hard, spray painted his box green and stuck his big anniversary stamp on the front. Fantastic.

I love my boxed games but colour usually does not annoy me.

Though ps3 boxes really ****y. The ones that really grind me gears were those platinum colour select few games.

I finally figured out why they're releasing the NX so close to the Wii U. It's nothing to do with competing. It's because they said they would only release one New Super Mario game a platform and they didn't want to wait any longer.

I'm assuming (always a bad thing to do) that the NX will have some sort of VR addon. Either to purchase as an addon, or it will come with.
Asssuming it's the direction things are going and it's where many people will prefer to spend their cash on the next console.
I can't see an awful lot of PS4/Xbone owners buying an NX with the VR helmets around the same price.

What are the chances? If they do, would it be more like the HoloLens

or the PS VR?
Unlikely to be like the HoloLens unless they've their own version that nobody knows of yet, that requires a station to help with the 'Holograms'.
Just pondering...

Nintendo have been quite suspicious of VR so I'm not sure if they'd be quite in the market for it yet. It's still a wait and see kind of market anyway, especially with the prices being quoted. The NX is incredibly secretive, more than I ever remember any other console in recent times, so whatever they are brewing is very obviously something that they don't want out in any shape or form. I remember the PS4 launch was quite quick after finding out the details of it but that was more or less a more powered PS3 and all the signs are pointing to something different with Nintendo.

Exciting times all the same.

To be honest, a ton of pages and everyone has feck all clue. No leaks no nothing. Good job Nintendo.
Maybe this time watching e3 we will actually will go: woooow new tech, new games, new shiny!!!! Not: okay, we all knew that, **** off with dlc, skip skip skip, because all of that was leaked already.

I love Internet and information age we are living in , but I kind of miss good old days of being surprised by new shiny without spoiling it by Internet.

I genuinely hope that nothing true leaks before Nintendo decide to do their official unveiling, whether that's at E3 or before it, for the same reason that ShadowHearth mentioned. That excitement is great!

Of course, we'll all continue to leap on rumours and speculate like crazy in the meantime!

Well the fake controller leaks could help in the long run because everyone will be even more skeptical with any rumours.

If I remember correctly, wasn't the Wii U controller leaked close to the reveal?

I can see a possible console reveal before E3 and the detail and line up at E3.
I'm trying to remember how the PS4 and XBox One were done. Didn't Sony and MS do their reveals at standalone events before E3?

They did. Sony announced in February, MS in May.

I don't drink or smoke or socialise much so this what my money goes on alright.

Nope. Too many good games on PS4 to get rid of it. Not to mention The Last Guardian.

Sure, the price you'd get for a PS4 is already dropping, better off hanging onto it tbh, just get PS+, enjoy a couple of free games a month, and imagine a world where Nintendo did something like that....

Not a hope. I always sort myself with all possible consoles for generation. Got pc, ps4, xbox one, 3ds, ps vita right now. And even if most of them collecting dust for months I will never sell them, because when some specific platform game comes out I just go and buy and don't worry, that I don't have that platform to play it on. For example now everything is collecting dust apart from 3ds. Few months before everything was collecting dust, but ps4 was played all the time. Who knows what I will be playing next month.

The only reason to sell my PS4 or xbox one will be if newer versions comes out, like rumored ps4k or xbox one 1.02.
This year is just weird, so much stuff and hardware rumored for this year, but nothing solid confirmed.
If it all comes out, I will get Nintendo nx as Xmas present and over time get ps4 and xbox one updated. If no nx out, then most likely ps4k.
