I should hope so, but how often do they get caught? How often dot hey get fined.

Someone gave an example of a buck who will pay the minimum amount per year and still tip the rest of his rubbish. Well at least there'll be less of his rubbish being tipped now/

The joy of living in a rural area. Its not very environmentally friendly to have one off rural houses anyway. I grew up in a rural area and their was private bin collections available.

No, probably not. The operators will likely state a minimum credit amount required, since it costs them the same to send a truck every week regardless of how much is in your bins. So you pay that minimum amount up front.

And with John....he's stumped up 60 quid too, but this slob generates tons of rubbish. 10 bags a week what with all his beer cans, pizza boxes, curry cartons, newspapers for him and his slob family. Yep. And he'll have to keep topping up his account or it will be suspended and the council will knock on his door asking what he does with his waste.

Like I mention above, the operators will have a fixed cost in sending trucks around, so they're not going to send a truck to your house if you haven't paid something towards.

Operators will likely continue to offer a flat-rate charge where they collect your rubbish and operate a fair usage policy (some already do this). The "pay by lift" regime that they do at the moment will simply be replaced with pay-by-weight charging, where you have an account that you top up with credit.

Yeah, but big & heavy stuff usually doesn't go in the wheelie bin anyway. He's not going to go to the trouble of keeping a bin in his house and separating out stuff that's slightly heavier than others.

The key in the mandatory registration is really to discover those scumbags who throw black bags out of the car. It won't stop it, of course it won't. But it should reduce is massively by basically making it more hassle to tip than to pay.

I think it does include recycling and composting (at least for some providers), but the cost is lower per kilo.

Certainly Barna Waste figures suggest you still pay per kilo for recycling and compost bins.

My next door neighbour drives to Ballymount civic dump every fortnight or 3 weeks and drops his bags off for €8. He is retired and does this when it suits him. Presumably if he keeps the receipts that should suffice.
I am fortunate to have a weekend house in wexford. I have 2 compost bins on the go. We separate non compost stuff from plastics etc and bring the 2 bags back and use our Dublin bins. Last weekend we partook in a clean up arranged by the local village. Going 200 metres either way from our house we filled 4 black refuse sacks. The local guys collected them from us and back to the pre arranged pick up area for council to take away. You should have seen the amount of sacks filled from the ditches. The main items I picked up were plastic bottles, tins, coffee cups, cig boxes. All of which are recyclable. The 3 nearest villages to me have the recycling bins... unbelievably the lazy dirty cnuts just lob them out of their cars. There were a few bags full of empties from house party.

I bring all my rubbish recycling to a council bring centre. A guy working there told me that private companies will be taking those over too so if say if you ardbrining all your rubbish there you will be fine

Where I am, your annual standing charge covers the recycling, whether you use it or not, but contents of recycling bin are free from charge, so in theory I'm still paying for my recycling

I think ill be using the bin at the back of the checkouts to remove all the unnecessary packaging from my shopping. That's the real problem there's just waaay to much unnecessary packaging from manufacturers.
