Waxes generally are better on darker colours, as it gives a warm glow and wet look.
Sealants on lighter colours to give a sharper appearance.

Its not necessary to do both - so Id see how you get on with the Fusso first!

Perfect prep and two light coats of fusso spaced out 24 hours apart.
You will be happy,
I think the cold look of sealants are much nicer on white than warm wax effect.

Fusso is perfect for this.

Anybody knows what are opening hrs for detailing shed in Blanch???

Gave one of the cars a quick go with orange hex pad just to see how much it could change how bad the paint was.

I was shocked with the results it took so many defects, swirls and many of the bad scratches it had.

I can see some will not disappear unless re spray but there was some from where petrol pump hose was dragged across roof and side many times. Results of 1st go on that area and 90% marks are gone.

So I will be going over again with orange then green and black.

The beading off it is real good and that's only with the cutting polish.

I will hopefully get pictures up also. Have them on phone so need to work out how.

After the orange, If you are as happy as you seem then move on to lighter pads / polsih.Start refining and getting the gloss up.

Question re pads and polish.
If i do cut then finish polish with machine do i need to wash off using apc or do i just apply colinite on top?

A wash down is advised. The machine polish has lubricating oils that will hinder the bonding of anything layered on it. It's not that it won't bond, but if a wax should as 3-4 months, it may only last 2-3 months.

To further improve the bond, using isopropyl alcohol is advisable.

Just to point out a few things!

You probably did get fairly good correction, but be aware that the polish itself will mask a certain amount of the lesser defects; so with heavy compounding you may in fact have inflicted lighter swirls caused by the abrasive nature of the polish, and/or, the trail of the machine on the surface. The polish could be hiding these, which may only show up when you've actually washed the car down pre-protection.

Again, given the polish on the paintwork, its the oils causing the beading; that alone will not protect the paintwork, and you'd probably find that a spin in the car in a heavy shower will in fact remove that beading effect totally. That said, a well corrected surface without any protection or polishing oils, will infact totally change how water sits on the car anyways.

As 'vectra' has said; if you are happy with how it looks now, you dont have to work through every stage of polishing, its OK to skip to the finishing stage and getting the finish up to a really nice shine....its kind of pointless chasing amazing correction on a daily driver....you want to be able to leave yourself plenty of opportunity to enhance the finish every few months or year.

i Fully understand that. I was just saying the 1st go was a huge improvement. The cars paint work wouldn't be the best but 1st time I have actually seen my reflection in it.

2002 was probably last time it looked good ha....

As well as can be expected for a niche market, and for only being open for ~20 days!

Working on being able to offer the occasional Detailing Day / Product Demo Evening...maybe even a Mini Show 'n' Shine meet every so often! Just trying to get on our feet, get stock levels back to an acceptable level, as they took a slight hit during set up.

All in all, not bad - thanks for asking!

Eraser would be the same idea as Gtechniq's Panel Wipe. Panel Wipe is IPA with added fragrances to make it more palatable of the nose whereas pure IPA is fairly tough!

I've always worn a face mask and glasses when spraying any of these things as I got a fright years ago in my early days of detailing. I inhaled the spray from Turtle Wax Wheel Clean and my throat and chest felt like they were burning and I was caught for breath. Not nice!

Ha Ha, to a certain degree! If that was the case, re-stocking wouldnt have been in issue as there would have been cash flow!

Unfortunately some sales were missed out on due to not having everything in stock due to the costs involved! But hey, you cant make an omelet without cracking some eggs!

It is but paint stripper is gentler on your hands. Wearing gloves is a no no as both paint stripper and brake fluid will just melt them. Also brake fluid will take a while to work whereas paint stripper will work immediately.

Seriously though. I would be inclined to machine polish it off to be sure.

Isnt it quite fresh?

Would be inclined to go along with Vectra....give it an APC wash, an IPA wipedown...that would break the back of the coating, and follow it up with a light machine polishing will ensure its fully removed, followed by your regular routine after machine polishing to ensure the paintwork is free of oils and perfect for whatever you have chosen to apply next!

What are you going with instead?
