How much would/do you spend on clothes?

€500 and €1000+ price tags on MrPorter got me thinking how much are people willing to spend on clothes, bar a decent winter jacket and maybe a pair of boots do many people pay €100+ on jeans, shirts, t-shirts etc?
My last big purchase was a jacket for €100 that was over half price off..

I've spent alot over the last year on clothes probably over €1,000; got a suit and then most of it went on jumpers, shirts and chinos. About a week ago I came to the realisation that I don't need to buy anymore clothes for at least a year the wardrobe is bulging with clothes a lot of them fairly new. Just need to keep out of the shops now although online sales are the worst for impulse buying clothes I think.

I've learned over the years, that it's not what you spend, it's how long you get out of clothes that matters.

Over seven years ago I spent about 150 euro on a suit in the sale in French Connection.

It finally died after weekly wear forty weeks of seven years this year.

I tend to buy most of my clothes from the likes of Kildare Village, and have clothes that last for years, rather than months.

So while I might spend more initially compared to buying in Pennys, I tend to have clothes that fit better, and last longer.

Spend anything up to €12 on socks every six months or so.

After that, the price of a daycent Christmas jumper every couple of years.

Generally head out once a year and stock up...not really into clothes shopping.

I tend to buy from a small sole trader ...jeans, sweaters, casual shirts....and then he won't see me again for another year...but he's delighted as I usually end up spending about €500

I started this with my OH as a birthday treat.

The owner now sees me coming and rubs his hands with glee. :pac:

Saw a nice jacket online a few hours ago so picked it up, €23 in the ASOS sale, and got a pair of jeans for €14 to go with it! Tends to be sporadic enough, if I see something I like and I have money spare I'll get it. Don't usually go over €150 at once, and at that price can usually get a nice haul online!

The only piece clothing I have been looking to splurge on is a pair of Acne Studios Denim, I mainly wear River Island but they lose shape and generally are what you'd expect for €40.
Saint Laurent Jeans would be nice but only if they fell off the back of a truck

I'd pay up to £100 on jeans but they'd last years.
£150 max for a decent jacket
Grab tshirts as a I go
Work shirts I tend to buy on sale in Debenhams whenever it comes up and just rotate the well worn ones out
I don't really wear a suit, I can't justify it for work as the jacket would sit on the back of my chair even though I do wear a shirt and tie, suits from Next and M&S do me fine.

I go through gym gear the quickest, I buy new tshirts every3 months or so, but I use the Nike factory outlet for that so it's peanuts for the gear.

Every couple of months I'll buy a few t-shirts/hoodies on Amazon
My boots cost 50e roughly, my shoes cost 40e roughly, and I've a pair of runners I've had for a couple of years now that were about 50e. I've one or two old pairs of shoes that get the odd wear and a pair of work shoes that I've had a few years.
I'll buy the odd shirt in H&M/Next/River Island etc.
I haven't bought jeans in a right few months.

All in all very little, don't buy clothes every month or even every 2/3 months, and when I do they don't tend to be expensive.

I'll be due to buy a few things probably around June/July time but I don't need much. I've actually loads of old stuff that probably needs to go to the charity shop.

I only ever buy plain t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, jocks & socks, usually online annually & a pair of jeans/boots bi-annually...guesstimate €300 per annum.

Spend working days in uniform & motorcycle leathers the rest of the time.

By no means a dedicated follower of fashion
