Been playing a bit of World of Warcraft again recently, as it's nice and easy to just run through at the moment. Saw some videos of Warframe on one of TotalBiscuit's streams, and it looks great though, so i'll give that a go over the weekend.

I got that recently after you were yapping on about it. The art style sold me. Its a nice little metroidvania style game with a "Zelda: A Link to the Past" thrown in.

I've really been flip-flopping through games the last couple of days, played a bit of Warframe, Renowned Explorers, Hard West, FTL, Witcher 3, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Dark Souls, and Tales From The Borderlands. But seriously enjoying Hyper Light Drifter. Got as far as the boss in the west, absolutely got destroyed constantly, so I decided to go a different direction and come back to it when I get more upgrades. This game is positively fantastic.

It seems to be one of those games where you can take a variety of paths. I went east and just finished that area. Somehow beat the boss on my second attempt with only one health refill tank. In you didn't know, there are 5 shops in town! Not two like I thought at first, and you can buy multiple upgrades from some of them (sword and speed shops), not just the one like I thought

I bought the triple dash thinking it was the only option. Luckily I probably would have got that first anyway. Its really useful for some of the more tricky dexterous areas.

Also I found the game far easier once I realised that you can touch most enemies and not take damage. Its just their attacks that damage you. That might be obvious to some but I've been conditioned by the likes of Mario all my life not to touch the bad guys.

I picked up The Forest (still in Alpha) and i'm loving it.

Such an immersive game. After a few practice starts I've finally found a beach area that i like and i'm starting to law down the basics for my camp. I've big plans for this area, but i must remain patient.

Not usually a fan of survival horrors. Thankfully no major jumpy moments so far. I don't know where I'm going to find the courage to venture into a cave.

No noticeable glitches so far. A truly beautiful game.

Got back into dark souls myself watching streams made me want to give it a go again (I previously gave up after 15 hours) and Im enjoying it a lot more this time with the help of guides

Also hopping off ESO 100% extra xp this week too has me flying through the levels haven't really tried the PVP aspect yet I think I'll wait till I'm a much higher level.

Stardew Valley is my indie game of the year so far. It does Harvest Moon better than Harvest Moon itself. All the more impressive considering it was all made by one guy.

Anyway I ended up dropping Ori and the Blind Forest. Just didnt have the patience required for it right now so its been shifted to my unfinished pile. Might return to it at some point as I still think theres a good game in there.

Started playing Deus Ex Human Revolution instead. Had this on PS3 and finished but I havent tried the Directors Cut so wanted to give it a try.

Also been playing Fallout 4 with my saracastic female character. I know the dialogue in this game is a bit trimmed down in this game but some of the sarcastic replies are brilliant.

Also been playing a bit of Terraria and I'm starting to understand why its so popular.

Got as far as the west boss in Hyper Light Drifter, but got absolutely destroyed by him, so thought I'd come back later and do another wing of the map, collect some more chips for upgrades. Did the north wing last night and beat the boss there, got a rail gun type thing which is excellent. Went back along the north a second time trying to pick up on any secrets I missed, and managed to get quite a few upgrade chips that I spent on an extra bomb and extra ammo. Going back along the west, picking up a lot of missed chips. Hopefully I'll be able to kill that boss when I get to him again.

Wrapped up Arkham Knight pretty quickly. Disappointing ending to an overall great series. Was hoping for a surprise with the Arkham Knight himself, but I guessed it from the first trailer and it turns out I was right. Knightfall ending just made things more confusing. Still interested to see if Rocksteady announce anything at E3.

I started to dig into the copy of the other game I got with my GFX card, The Witcher III. About ten hours in and yep, this game's absolutely badass. Cleared most of the question marks in the village. There was one I couldn't get to because I couldn't see a path but I got the rest. Otherwise though? Fantastic apart from the slightly overbearing music (it's good, there's just too much of it, occasional quiet would be nice). The Batman-esque planning to kill that griffin was excellent stuff. I get a real kick out of stuff like that. Sidequests are pretty good so far as well. I liked the one with the ghost of the lady who was killed in the well, even though I had to reboot the game because I somehow broke the dive button mid-quest. Then I got to Velen....zoomed out the map....saw ALL the question marks. I was not prepared. I'm going to be here awhile I think. I just cleared the first grown-up Ciri section. She's pretty cool, plays differently enough from Geralt with the teleport dodges and health regen, but no silver sword for monsters.

My armour's ridiculous though. Geralt looks like a tablecloth. I take it the shaving sequence was all stuff from Assassins of Kings? I played most of it on 360, but too many fantasy names, so I couldn't remember what I did. Tried to answer as close as I could, we'll see how that turns out.

I'm digging into Enter the Gungeon. I really like the idea of roguelikes but they often put me off thematically. I love the look and feel of Gungeon though. It's just really fun and crisp to control. Have switched to KBAM for this one and it got a lot easier. The main problem is that they have all these awesome guns, they're just so hard to come by. But even when you're losing badly, game is fun, and that's a sign of a great title IMO. Fabulous soundtrack as well.

I finished Rise of the Tomb Raider. Overall, I liked it, but I liked the last one a lot more. There was just a ton more flab in this one, lots of bolted on elements to tick marketing boxes. What a game graphically though. Stunning stuff, especially the PureHair tech.

Dabbling with a few other things like Invisible Inc, Stardew Valley and WWE 2K16. More thoughts on those another time.

And spent today in World of Warcraft to get my Liadrin skin for Hearthstone. Haven't been back since the WOTLK days. It was fine, tedious but fine. Got through a bunch of podcasts and an audio drama so that was good. Love her emotes though, especially the weapon attack one, it's just "BURN!" Simple and to the point, I like that in my elven paladin ladies.

I don't really get Stardew Valley. I played Harvest Moon on the gameboy years back. I put a fair bit of time into but I'm not even sure I enjoyed it. It's literally a farm simulator. A complete chore. I'd much prefer something like Factorio where your automating as much as possible.

Wolfenstein crashed on me again, so I played a teeny bit more Dark Souls and attempted the West boss on Hyper Light Drifter once again, absolutely whooping my ass! I got upgrades so I can even reflect his bullets back at him, takes a good chunk of health off him, but I still can't defeat him. Managed to get him down to 3 points of his health left before dying at one point, that was tense! :eek:

There are tons of triangles I missed in the West area according to the map yet I can't find them at all. Can you get to that boss with only three triangles? I managed to open the door which I think is leading to the boss.

Still playing a ton of Rainbow 6 Siege, started The Evil Within (game looks really effing good) and ill dip into that every now and again. But I'll be getting right into Dark Souls 3 this week, even got a new Xbox One controller in prep for it as my old Xbox 360 controller doesn't respond as well from all the button mashing of nearly 1,000 hours of the previous Dark Souls games

Grim Dawn - best arpg ive ever played ,ive played them all.
The Division - very nice shooter mechanics in an rpg seems right up my street, enjoying it but needs more content,some of which arrives tomorrow.

Automibilista and Assetto Corsa -excellent racing sims.

Also a bit of heroes of the storm here and there.

While waiting for The Witcher 3 DLC, I've moved onto The Evil Within. I'm just going through that fairly past, and I'll move onto the Arkham Knight DLC and Dark Souls 2. I will persevere with the latter this time around....

Finished Quantum Break. Was so-so.

Just delving into Stardew Valley. 17000 reviews on steam 98% overwhelmingly positive can't really get better than that. These games are make of it as you will. If you're one to lose attention quickly then this game wouldn't be your enjoyment.

I fell in and out of love with these types of games over the past 20 years but this has really caught my attention and I'm hooked. Great effort by Barone. His interviews are fascinating.

One thing to think about when it comes to those steam reviews, a lot of niche games have massively positive reviews. My theory is that some games telegraph and convey what type of game they are in pictures and videos very well. You know what to expect before playing the game. Stardew Valley is one of them. It is obviously a farming simulator in the vein of Harvest Moon. I am not saying the game is bad or these people are wrong. I am saying that the people reviewing this game are already huge fans of the genre. If every gamer reviewed the Stardew Valley, it wouldn't have anything close to 98% positive reviews. I know I won't like the game so I haven't bought it and hence I will never review it. Axiom Verge is another example of this.

But on second thoughts, 17000 reviews is an awful lot!
