Here are a couple of good official accounts. They feature bodycam's and in car cams. Plenty of ambulance escorts. Even a few pursuits. There is one where the officers fire warning shots into the air.

Re the Dutch police, I love how most of their regular fleet is VW Tourans and passenger Caddy's!

If the (SIAC) LDV's get in then that's the bottom of the barrell I'd say, the original LDV's were bad (except for the UK POL V8's :cool: http://s56.photobucket.com/user/conrod1/media/129-2948_IMG.jpg.html ) but these new ones are 100% Chinese design/build and I'm not sure of their quality if any.

Audi pricing - if a manufacturer wants to get a presence then they'll price it accordingly according to my source in an importers. Most importers report back to the manufacturers what's selling and the manufacturers move the factory gate price to reflect the price after Irish taxes (That's why there was such a big 'ZZ' plating boom 10/15 years ago until the manufacturers stepped in when they realised their UK dealers were p***d off with Irish new cars arriving in the UK ) I also remember years ago doing a study of the world pricing of a L-Cruiser 200 (Amazon) , in Japan it was c.E30k for the basic, Australia E40k, UK E70k and here E90k. In Japan/Australia it was considered a workhorse in basic form, but in the UK/IRL it was priced as a prestige 'lifestyle' machine with all the extras, no basic version available.

Got to see a Q7 today and I noticed it has no ANPR. Lads onboard said its a shame its no fitted but they'll manage.

Would be good if was fitted with as the pop up would state if a car has a history of firearms etc...

Was it the same lads that I met in Texaco in Lucan this evening. I had to go up and have a nerd and in fairness he was a decent chap who answered my questions if a teeny bit suspect about my questions. But I told him I was just like a kid on an airplane! Up close they are a lovely looking bus!

Unmarked BMW 5 series on the M50 earlier had some scrot pulled in.

Yeah they are some machines, the Q7 i seen was at the old airport road at santry side of the junction there with an unmarked mondeo darkish colour (night time and it was in plane spotting bay) but the Q7 was at the roadside.
Probably same lads...although I wasn't really asking many just about the anpr.

Yes always thought this on xc70s only one regionals cars were done.

It works well with information markers so would work but it's a cost issue.

But to be fair mdt units in all cars be great and every car should have a camera at least

I would be more of the opinon that its more to do with security then anything else,You dont want undesirables coming over to our garda cars and seeing what they have and what they havent got.
In Spain its illegal to take photos of police or there cars and people have been charged over doing same.

Its no secret what type of engine the garda cars have, considering you can stick the reg into cartell and see what engine it has.

some probably will but will have had a fortune spent on them.

Mondeo I was say from experience is one of the best suited standard cars they ever had.
Great handling machines.

Caught a glimse of motorway cops old old series last night and a Octavia estate vRS against police 3series.

The vRS left them sitting as the cornering capabilities was huge compared to there over weight machine.
Great for motorway straight lines but on back roads had huge trouble.

It will be interesting to see when new tender is put out will they stick with Hyundai from now on.

Ford have lost out big.

New cars won't last as there is limited number than 8/10 years ago, they had purchased more not best cars but they lasted

Look at Toyotas 2011 very few left now

Hyundais might be the best but better have them than nothing at moment

I had a good photo of that land cruiser trying to find it on me phone. the doors and panels are not for your regular toyota that's for sure. Reminds me of the beast obama used.

Agree with you fully! Although i hope the tender goes back to ford or Toyota the avenesis were decent enough could take belting when it was needed.
Miss the Mondeos though particularly the 2004-07 models.

Having said that i seen a couple of minutes ago an avensis saloon regular car (not traffic) in coolock with anpr on it. The rear cam on the boot looks like its being held on with chewing gum or some sort putty. Looks like a quick fix...or a bad transition.
