Of course some people will judge by what they see. But I have learned with experience to never judge a book by its cover . For example Some of the wealthiest people i know have old run down cars...

I don't know enough about cars to judge people on the basis of whatever they drive. I judge people by the way they drive their car though.

I've never heard of anybody passing remark on someone and their beat up banger but have heard plenty of "judging" people in nice cars.

I think judgement passed on drivers of nice cars stems from jealousy.

My own is a regular auld yoke. Some day I'll have something beautiful but until then I shall admire with longing rather than judgement.

I think non-car owners are much more likely to be indifferent. That was certainly the case with me. I had zero interest in cars.

But since owning a car, that has changed a little. It's not that I judge the other driver, I judge my car vs other (nicer) cars. Nothing to do with the person themselves. If I drive past a nicer car, I'll probably have a "that would be nicer to drive" thought.
I just roll up the middle figure as I pass the less nice cars. I don't.

PC answer; no. Realistic answer; a little bit, yes, but I am a card carrying petrol head.

I would commend someone for either being discerning enough to make a decent choice without any interest or passion for cars or if they've applied a little grey matter to the selection process rather than falling into the lazy old, ill-informed traps.

It depends on what you consider a 'nice' car too. I'd get more enthusiastic about lots of very well chosen €1,000-€2,000 cars over the latest €35k euro boxes.
