Can anyone seriously compete with Coolmore? Who are yer favourite stallions?

Galileo has owned the big races world wide this year. Europe,S.Africa and a dual grade 1 success last week in the States,who can even get near half of Coolmore's stallions.

I'd rate them
1.Galileo
2.Montjeu
3.Danehill Dancer

Holy Roman Emperor has really impressed me and you can bet his stud fee will be more than 10 grand next year. Even Strategic Prince is a first year sire who banged out a group 1 winner at a fee of 5,000.

Teofilo has really caught my eye aswell this year.

Dylan Thomas and Mahler would be two stallions which I have experienced to throw good big foals. D. Thomas great value imo

Looking at sales records doyen does well with shantou mares.

You need a big mare for Yeats. Better value to be got also. Cailifet is another you could look at

Another flat season done and dusted and a titanic battle between Dubawi and Galileo for the sires title ended with Galileo pulling clear after an awesome spell in the last few months of the season. Dubawi now heads to a fee of £220,000 which should make for some very choicely bred types by him hitting the track. He's stock have significantly lacked the precocity of the Galileo's and he seems to really excel with his older stock.

Invincible Spirit raised to €120,000 is a high class stallion and potential producer of desirably fast stallions which explains the fee raise. He's just €5,000 cheaper than Sea The Stars, would rather have the Sea The Stars fillies as potential broodmares than the Invincible Spirits and the reverse with the Invincible Spirit Colts as hotter stallion and racing prospects than the Sea The Stars types.

Hard to muster too much enthusiasm for the front two in the First season sires battle. Zoffany and Canford Cliffs supplied plenty of winners but there's a slight question hanging over the real quality of both their stock. No GP 1 winners yet for either which is unusual for the leading First season sires and is not very promising although they look well capable of banging in the winners time and time again.

Dream ahead has been a promising First season sire, find it hard to know what to make of Roderic O'Connor, he's done quite well I think. Pour Moi may be a slow burner, looking forward to seeing what his stock can do at 3+.

Would like to see Mastercraftsman being treated to some top quality mares and to see the likes of Ballydoyle training more of his stock.

Gleneagles starts off at €60,000 which seems a little steep but if he gets good looking stock they'll sell very well, he's awfully well bred as a potential sire but had his reputation seriously damaged by the will he won't he run nonsense. Think myself they knew he was gone before the Autumn and they should have packed in his season instead of pretending otherwise.

I went to coolmore on the stallion trail. Enjoyable day. They took out all the stallions except galileo and ruler of the world. All magnificent walkers. Camelot put on a bit of a show. Reared up a few times. Australia was the centre piece walked a lot for us. I was surprised by how small some of them were. Pour moi looked very well, i reckon he will be a great nh sire, but they are giving him a chance to produce on the flat.

I went to sunnyhill after. Doyen and lucky speed both looked great

I haven't seen Lucky Speed yet, is he a big strong horse, ....good bone ?

Good looking horse. Tall looking 16.2. Good bone.

Still looks like a racehorse. He will take a few years to fill out and look like a stallion. I thought Doyen was far more impressive. Lucky speed hasn't a bit of white on him, which some will like.

Give him 3 years and he will be a right looker too.

As I said when he went to stud and stand by it I firmly believe Sea The Stars will be recognised as a National hunt sire eventually.
