I got tec 7 gt7 today it gives wd40 a run for its money useful for literally 100s of jobs seriously good degreaser and just eats through rust. Also acts as a lubricant, water repellant and cleaner. Great stuff.

Cant say that i know a whole lot about oil brands but i assume going for castrol i would be grand its only going into a dirty daysul anyway:pac:

Or is there better out there dont mind paying for proper stuff havent looked on micksgarage or anywhere else yet as i like to buy local and these are only in the road and do free delivery

Never seen that website before. 4 litres of semi synthetic Castrol GTX 10w40 oil is €18.95 on MicksGarage.

You'd want the Castrol edge 5w30 for a 2009 a4 diesel it has to meet VW 507 spec. Edge is about 40-50 euro for 4 litres don't buy Castrol magnetec or gtx anyway you'll ruin the dpf. There is a Mobil version in halfords that meets that vw507 spec also. Edge is considered to be the sh!t by most but Mobil is very good too IMO.

Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30 is the best fully synth oil of that weight

Funny you should mention that when i used to get the car serviced in my local garage which is a Renault main dealer thats what they used:)

Used to use the New Life stuff in my ST too and that was running 150% of stock power, the esp is the best for a diesel with a dpf if it falls within audi spec. Will be buying 10l for my 535d in afew days.

You can't even use that on the newer euro 5 Renault Diesel engines. I've looked and literally the only two brands that meet the RN0720 spec is elf and Fuchs. It's mad most cars including the vag stuff you could choose between 10 plus brands that meet the spec and newer Renaults just two brands my local uses elf Solaris when they service mine.

Halfords. It's 59e for 5l i think so i buy two and use the 10% off voucher you can print off online. Pricey stuff but mobil 1 oils are great and one of the few brands not bought out by a larger company who have skimped on quality for more flashy advertising

Thanks for that its off to halfords for me so rather pay the extra with a product i can trust too much ****e floating around these days.

Was in my local factors today knew none of the oil brands they had on offer:(
For the sake of an extra 10-15 euro its not worth wrecking the car need it for another 2-3years before i upgrade:pac:

Anything would give wd40 a run for it's money tbh. It's an ok cleaner and that's about it. This stuff is well ahead of wd40 for lubricating hinges etc.

I haven't used the wurth stuff but I was well impressed with the gt7 especially for cleaning oil baked on like tar for years and it ate threw it back like new. I suppose wd40 is out a hell of a long time now where as all these newer sprays are just out and more advanced.

I've seen wd40 recommended where you wanna loosen a bolt without taking off some of the underbody protection on a subaru. Nice and gentle like.

Used a combination of holts professional release spray and rustoleum freeze and release and they both sure as fvck removed protection. Bolts holding diff to chassis moved like they had left the factory yesterday rather than enduring 10 years of irish weather and salt though!

Standard since 01 on the minis. Not real tpms, just monitors the wheel speeds through the abs sensors. Has never triggered only that time wheels were swapped.

The wurth stuff is excellent for hinges, door locks etc. When you spray it it's a penetrating fluid but once the fluid evaporates it leaves a protective film of grease on the surface. It's much better than wd40 in this regard.

I haven't used gt7 but I have used their sealants and tec7 cleaner and I found them all to be good tbh.

Tec7 is one of the few polyurethane sealants that actually specifies its durometer rating... firmed up my diff mounts nicely when I bodged it into the gaps in the factory bushings :-)

Their sealants are great for fixing leaks or as an adhesive the big benefit is being able to put it on wet surfaces. We must have 5 tubes of it in the shed in different colours my dad loves the stuff.

Kilkenny to portlaoise to mountmellick to tullamore exit onto m6 and on to the real capital.

There are shorter route but this is by far the least hassle and best roads.
