Finding veins is an absolute pain, one of these would speed things up considerably, and be cool.

You can get them from some Chinese sites for around €120 or so, basically a camera that can see IR and the visual gets a little processed before being projected back to the skin with a cool low temp blue led projector, giving a real time display of the blood vessels under the skin.
I'd love to see these in work, we would have common issues with people with deep veins or poor condition veins and a device like this would make it easy to target those good condition vessels, perhaps on the back of the hands or feet.
The medical ones are big and serious looking, but they all operate on the same simple principle, some output to a monitor instead of projecting onto the arm but the projecting ones look so fantastic!

Makes sense to have them if it saves someone 10 minutes of vein finding. 10 minutes spent elsewhere.

Need some help guys if possible?
The monitor seems to be gone on one of my machines and to be honest I don’t know where to start with it. Never was an arcade monitor expert. Too scary for me!

Basically I switched it on, no picture.
Then turned it off, unplugged it, tried again, picture was back perfectly albeit for a couple of minutes.
It then started making a fizzing noise, picture started rolling and getting scrambled, on and on.
Seemed like a loose connection to me so took a look at the hack setup I have.
It’s the rgb and sync cables from a 60 in 1 board to make composite connected to the monitor and then ground from the 60 in 1 to ground on the monitor too.

They looked fine but re-stripped and reconnected them and same story, rolling picture, fizzing sound. This continued for a bit, but then it just went completely. Nothing at all now, no fizz no picture no matter what I do with the wires. Insight or thoughts on this? Any advice would be so welcome. Cheers.

Today i'm concentrating on updating my PS2 SoftMod which currently uses an internal HDD and FreeMcBoot Memory Card.

Since I'm having problems currently installing ISOs over the network, with various versions of HDL Dump/Dumb,
I'm going to install the HDD-OSD exploit, which is basically like FreeMcBoot, but all that is required is to install the soft mod on a hard drive and you're good to go.

I love how its built into the GUI of the PS2 Browser, rather than in the main menu like Free McBoot.

I will then use a utility called HDLGameInstaller which is more recent and better than the older HDL Dump, it will only work on the HDD-OSD exploit though.

I will also be trying out the POPStarter PS1 emulator which has been steadily growing in game compatibility.

I'm not familiar with that model at all.
Fizzing to me says dirty anode cap or a crack in the LOPT.
Turn it on in the dark and look at the chassis.
you should see blue sparks coming from somewhere making the noise.
This will be your problem.

Also where do the red/yellow and blue/green/white/red go to?

Yeah I know what you mean. Was always a concern with me when buying hardware as old as this. I don't want to replace it with a crt but I may not have a choice? That's a whole other headache for another day.

The problem is that it was fizzing but it's stopped doing that now and nothing is happening with the monitor. The anode is in a really awkward place too. Basically the screen is completely flat and the anode is on the side next to the control panel? I'm guessing I'll have to discharge if I want to mess about with that?

I'll see if its doing anything else though this evening and turn it on in the dark too to see if anything has changed.

100e would see it serviced.
maybe a bit more if it needs a lopt.
but its 25+ years old.
it needs some love and it'll outlive us all
