I don't think it's unfair to suggest that a black belt in Japanese JiuJitsu roughly equivalent to a blue belt in BJJ. There's a huge difference between knowing what to do and actually doing it against an advanced opponent. How many of them where punching you full force in the face at the time? This making a huge difference. Look at it this way, you've been swept and mounted, what would have done instead of giving up your back and neck? If rugby or soccer allowed punching, both of those cock ups would be more common,.
