I've been thinking about this thread for a while and I decided to create it today. Post your most recent motors related purchase :pac: It should be a nice way to share decent bargains (wink wink GvidoR) with others :cool:

I got a circular polarizer (CPL) filter for my dashcam today. It wasn't cheap coming out at €20~ but it reduces the dashboard glare on the windscreen.

Toyota seem to think it's fine to put a call button on the steering wheel that only works when you shell out another grand for the sat nav pack. So I bought this Bluetooth Siri button. £20 for a button but still better than buying crappy satnav.

I bought a spurious one from a motor factor for 3 euro for a 2004 Focus.

Reverse light still ain't working though!:(

No surprise. I gave up on using motor factors a while ago. Sh*t parts for rip off pricing.

Either buy the same spurious part online for half the price or spend a wee bit extra on the genuine :rolleyes:

Ordered a tensioner pulley and a regular pulley. They send me out two tensioners. I had an issue with these guys before, I knew there would be something wrong before i opened the box.

The golden rule is only to use them for planned maintenance well into the future cause it will be wrong.
Still, you will probably have 3 tensioners when finished with them - they will probably resend the whole order.
I got brake pads last week from them. They actually arrived correct, right brand and in 6 days. Very surprised.

The worst part was the original pictures I put up went offline, so I had to rack my brains a little.

First time out I got a new regulator, this time out I went with used. It being the passenger side I reckon the lower cost was worth the risk. It turns out a pre used regulator made things a lot easier. The fine tuning aspect wasn't needed as it was setup perfectly. The window glides open.

There is such a sense of satisfaction when you diy a repair. Less than €40 and a major part is back working again.

The thing I would hate most about a job like that is broken plastic clips on the door card and not having it sit properly ever again.

You're probably right, I have time to kill too, only preventative maintenance. The wipers they sent don't fit my car either, they're paying for postage back.

They ain't gonna make a whole lot on this order...

Got a Karcher K2 (Car + Home) power washer today. Nice replacement for the old Parkside jobby. The Parkside still works good but the adjustable lance was broken and the hose started to leak a bit so instead of replacing the lance and hose I got this.

The Karcher isn't as powerful but it's nicer to use since it's lighter, more compact and quieter

I tried the patio cleaner and it works amazingly. I used to use the high pressure lance from the Parkside pressure washer and it was crap compared to the patio cleaner :rolleyes:

We have a karcher 510 in the shed its actually the same age as me 1994 it's going well so far :pac: still does a nice job on the Megane or washing paths etc. Sure look like anything if you mind them they last. There is a welder in the shed that has 3 years on my age and still works perfect.

A Bosch hammer drill which is also older than me works perfect it wouldn't drill sh!t hammer action leaves a lot to be desired and the hilti hammer action drill we have literally runs rings around it but it still works.

All this leads me coming to the conclusion buy the best you can afford and mind it and it will rarely let you down.

I have an old Makita drill that I still use with 2 batteries. The batteries don't last that long but they are grand for the odd job since there are 2 of them. The main issue I have with them is oxidation on the battery pins making the drill not working at all. It's so old I need to sand the pins down every once in a while :pac:
