He's very lean, and probably about as lean as he would want to be. But it's entirely possible to be leaner. There's the whole ripped to pieces, bulging veins, single digit bf beyond that. But also, we weren't really suggesting putting on more muscle at his bodyweight. It was that he's put on more muscle and let his bodyweight increase.
Lukker- wrote: » I said he was close to being as lean as possible.
He was perhaps the leanest we've seen him going into Aldo and as lean as he was ever going to be. My point was it's only been 2 months since the Aldo fight, at most he's put on 2-3 pounds(being generous) of lean muscle in that time frame,
no where in my post did I mention mass.
The rest of the mass he's added is bodyfat, which he wouldn't have much trouble losing if needs be. It may well be he's walking around 7-8 pounds heavier then normal during a camp. That extra 2 pounds of muscle might prevent him making the cut again, but Conor has been big before and come back down, he'd likely just need a longer camp. He has a 5 months before UFC 200 so if he doesn't beat RDA he'll most likely be facing Edgar/Aldo.
Mellor wrote: » I understood that. I'm saying he isn't close to lean as possible. He is nowhere near ridiculous bodybuilder/fitness models levels. Nor should he want to be. At that level performance suffers. Recovery suffers, etc
And as I said, even if he was as lean as possible at that weight, how does that limit the muscle he can build for this fight? I agree that he was at lean as we've seen he. I don't see how that's related to how much muscle he can build.
It's been 10 weeks since the Aldo fight (12 weeks between fights). How much could be build in 10 weeks is highly varible. It could be 1-2lbs like you said, it could be more. It's certainly possible to build more with good genetics. One study could show 2lbs in low responders, and 8 high responders. Another shows 4lbs average without PEDs, triple that more with PEDs, etc etc
eh? I didn't mention mass either.
There'll be fat added too obviously. It looks like more than 2lbs of muscle to me. Ultimately it's all speculation. Maybe he's added very little, maybe a lot.

Looking forward to it. To clarify what I mean about how I'm going to miss your posts however, is that once a fighter has been beaten that confidence is never the same, the same boastful exhubarence will never return. So, the day Conor is beaten, and you can no longer make those posts that I find hilarious for the most part, is going to be a sad one for me.

Why do this sort of online Q&A video session if you're going to get upset by the questions and pretty much threaten people who are asking the questions. I heard a few stories in the past about his antics when meeting fans and if fans call him on acting like a **** he threatens to hit them. Anyway, he addresses the McGregor "quitter" claims and talks a bit about him in 1st few minutes. He gets upset with the fans, pretty easy to see his fake laugh with "haha you guys are funny" and his smile quickly disappears. I really wish someone would have asked him "Why are you running from Conor if you want to fight him?" lol, wind him up telling him he moved from 155 to 170 because he's scared Doubt it would have went down to well! Its the 1st time I've heard he has a liver problem(for someone who so openly drinks beer so often its surprising, also talks of drinking whiskey & jokes he's an alcohol), I knew he's had part of his stomach/intestines removed but never heard about his liver? 1 thing I thought was most surprising was the question if he ever used steroids and he answered "No, not that I know of" http://www.punditarena.com/mmaufc/ckelleher/video-donald-cowboy-cerrone-responds-to-conor-mcgregors-quitter-insults/
