One of the last great Japanese owned companies or at least it was now that Nissan went half French. Outstanding MPG I heard but on the other hand I test drove a Charade about 4 years ago and it felt really flimsy like the whole thing was made of plastic. Its light weight no doubt helps the mileage but it felt a little bit too small for me.

And another good oldie. Perfectly usable and 23 years old. When will these become acknowledged young timers?

Daihatsu we're never owned by Nissan

I didnt' say they were. I only pointed out that Daihatsu was one of the remaining Japanese Auto companies under Japanese management. Nissan was merged or at least half bought by one of the French companies Renault circa 2002 [give or take a year or two]when previously Japanese only parts started being replaced by French parts. It kind of depends on your views concerning the reliability and reputation of one compared to the other.

Nissan was bought by Renault. Not sure I get your point. What other jap car makers are no longer under japanese management?

Toyota, Honda and most other Japanese carmakers are still under Japanese managment.

I didnt say Peugeot. I said Renault. I typed Peugeot absent mindedly for a microsecond because I was looking at a Peugeot advert..... and my point is clearly expressed back there.

Nice, but the one I really like is the estate with the panoramic roof.

That's fine as long as you clearly state it's your car :)

    Ooooh matron .....

Genuinely tempted by this myself. Lovely aul thing to smoke around in for a while. Wouldn't cost the earth to run, depreciation free and (I say) cool too.

Nice car, decent ad. Should sell for very close to your asking price. You might mention in the ad that there's the guts of 4 months tax on it too!

Good luck with your sale :)

This looks very reasonable for well under a grand. 10 months test, new enough plate, frugal and not all that bad of a car. You'd pay nearly this for a 98 Micra!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,911 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

It's a bargain for sure and be cheap to run, but it's so ugly. Then I sow the seats... I think I could drive it only at night, I wouldn't see interior lol.

That is actually nice. Good price. I really hate that I missed out on a black e34 estate 520i 1995 a while ago as back then I did not planed on selling my car. I still want to own e34 at some point in my life.

518 would be a real pig on petrol? Really really heavy car for such engine. Insurance would be mad too. I guess still good classic run around for a year if mpg and insurance is not issue.
Or get that and drop 2.5 engine in to it... Nice project.

Regarding the Panda, don't know much about them but am considering this as a 2nd car. Need something just as a back up really. Any known issues with them or things to look out with this amount of mileage. Cheers.
